I took a few images.

The pointers came in a insert for a case but without the case.

I ordered two and they were back to back.

Just one of the pointers "naked"

They came in a padded envelope and a generous amount of bubble wrap AND in working order.  [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

I fired up one of them with the included alkaline batteries, it took a good second or so for the beam to get to its maximum.
I threw in a set of nimh cells and the beam was not only noticeably brighter but did not seem to need any warm up time.
Like I have said before, I don't know how much IR these things give off (please be careful) but the beam is very VERY visible.

I recommend Ledshoppe but YMMV.

Thanks as always,

Ray

PS  I'm still working on my beam shots and will post some when I get everything just right.

Yes. But don't expect top quality from LEDshoppe. I ordered a 5mW and a 10mW a week ago, I'll let everyone know how it goes (It didn't arrive yet)

I just got my 50mW from them. It is noticeably brighter than my 20mW New wish. It will semi melt and deform electrical tape, but it wont burn it (no smoke). Beam diameter is about 1.5mm but it will burn and light matches with a jewelers loupe. I'll post a full review when I receive my LaserBee I.

SO what type of batteries power the 50mw ledshoppe? are the hard to aquire?

it's AAAs or AAs , so unless you are in the middle of a desert then you should be able to get the no problem ;)

They are AAA. Bottom line: ;D BUY IT! ;D For $25 it's a steal! It's not great for burning of course but it's a solid build and feels good. The button feels sturdy. The beam comes out completely strait, not crooked. It's a cool laser that you can take anywhere. The divergence is great. I can seen the beam in my house with the lights on! The AAA it comes with are some Chinese brand; they probably wont laser too long. But I didn't expect it to come with batteries anyway. No case though. :( That's the only con I can think of but again since the price was so good I wasn't really expecting one.

For me since it was only $25 it's like my beater laser. I wont be devastated if it ever breaks or goes bad you know. I've only had it for 2 days but so far it has not disappointed.

We do Laser Shows 4-5 times a week here in the midwest and have bought the 30 and 50mW LED Shoppe pens to resell at the shows (30pcs so far) and haven't had a single bad one yet - I use their free EMS shipping (as long as you order over $100 worth of stuff they automatically upgrade you to EMS) as well as the coupon codes... Generally with EMS I have them in hand within 4-5 days of placing the order which is a day or two faster than most EMS stuff from China.

As to the lasers themselves, hey - they're really REALLY low-cost and bottom line is they work very well for the price point, although I have noticed that yes, the batteries you use DO make a big difference (as they get low, the lasers will come on strong and drop significantly as to output within a second or so) ...

Just my 2 cents - I just ordered a few cheapies from FocalPrice to play around with yesterday (50-150-200mW pen style and 300mW w/focus) so we'll see in a few days how they compare as to shipping time, quality, etc.

ANOTHER NOTE: right now, LED Shoppe orders over $150 get an 18% discount PLUS free EMS shipping, looks like a limited xmas thing though so it may not last long!

I have two 50mw from ledshoppe these days and they are both way under spec. :'(

One of them reach mostly 40mw the other one mostly only 30mw.

Dissapponting, the 5mw are way over spec but the 50 mw really version not.

Its the version with the small endcap not the good one with tread in the middle.

i got a 50mw from them and its great.  my friend did as well.  shipping takes about 10-12 days, its really slow unless you make a purchase of at least $100 and get priority which is always faster.  the included batteries aren't that great, it seems that with non-fresh alkalines it needs to warm up, but with good ni-mh's it needs no warm up at all and the beam is perfectly visible, even during the day (sometimes).  compared to my friends 75mw from DL, this is a steal.   his is only better because the brightness isnt as affected by the charge of the batteries, and its not as sensitive to low temperatures.  it needs to warm up if its under like 75 degrees (F)  but this is solved by simply keeping it in your pocket  ;)

i highly recommend ledshoppe to anyone looking for a great deal.  i even got a couple friends to buy some lasers from them and they love 'em.

edit: some people on here have been complaining about their 50mw being under spec.  i am pretty sure mine is too but that just means i paid $25 for a 35-45mw laser.  thats still a steal!

also, i DO live in the US, i used standard shipping and my laser got here without a hitch! (i have a friend who bought the same laser and lives near me who can vouch)
