I received the laser pointer 2 days ago and have been using it frequently. I noticed today that the laser was getting dimmer and would flicker slightly when I first press the switch then return to full brightness. Thinking that it may be due to weak batteries I changed a fresh set. It is currently still persisting and is much dimmer with brand new batteries.

Anyone with any thoughts?? This sucks big time. BTW I've written in to LED Shoppe but I suppose it'll be another 3-4 days before I hear back. *sigh* :scowl:

Mine does that alittle at first, from what I've read....the temperature needs to stablize for a short while. I also posted earlier, that mine wouldn't pop balloons....I was mistaken.

After battery swap, it will after it warms up a few seconds

@Lonewolf, really? It needs to warm-up? Guess I never really noticed it when I first started using. Right now I'm just concerned it's a manufacture fault. In any case I've gotten a really prompt response from LED Shoppe which is great but read on...

"Thanks for your contact. What kind of fresh batteries you replace to it? Is it alkaline batteries? Also please try to release the batteries holder and twist it back again, it may solve the problem. Please kindly let us know the result. Thanks."

Uhh... don't you need to release the battery holder and twist it back when you change batteries?? :banghead: Real quick response but not much help unfortunately. Why is it that there are so many ppl here raving abt the customer service?

UPDATE : still no news from LED Shoppe after I responded that the result was still the same with me "releasing the batteries holder and twisting it back again". Can someone out there please explain to me how and why they actually sent a replacement pointer??

I remember reading somewhere here that there was a replacement sent without any questions asked but I'm not seeing the same level of service rite now.

:wtf:

I just ordered a 10mW green from them. I used the 10% off coupon and no tracking. I will post when it arrives.

I just received it today. Took 14 days to get here, PA, USA.

The brightness seems exactly the same as my 5mW I got from somewhere else. But the 5mW was super dim when I got it and I had to change the pot to correct it. I can't find my voltmeter to see where I have the pot set so I probably have it a bit on the high side but who knows.

I am happy with my purchase from LEDShoppe.

I'm studying abroad in Denmark and I ordered a 50mW laser on November 2nd...not only has it still not arrived, the tracking number that they gave me does absolutely nothing - I can't find any information on Hong Kong's mail tracking site. I tried e-mailing them and haven't gotten a response in several days...NOT during the weekend. Is there any other way I can get in contact with them?

Well - good news, the laser finally arrived today.

Bad news - while at first it seemed to be only slightly underspec, the power of the laser itself has died off considerably after only a few hours of testing it out (not continuously, and not even strenuously). At this point, I doubt if it's even outputting 10 mW. I'm not sure if this is a battery issue yet, and I intend to test it out when I return to the US.

However, would ledshoppe issue a refund or send another laser in this case? I was just curious about everyone else's experiences with them in the past. I purchased the laser after hearing about their good customer service, but their lack of response to my email (a response came almost a week after I sent them an email, and the only information it included was a link to the hong kong tracking site, which showed that they shipped out the laser 12 days after I ordered it) makes me think that I perhaps should've gone with DX.

I received my Ledshoppe 50 in a record 8 days (to the US) after paying for it. Came well bubble wrapped with no box and two cheap batteries as expected. It performs perfectly, beam is visible even in a well lit room, and the beam is not crooked either. For $24.99, it's probably one of the better green lasers for the cost available.

I opted to get the tracking, which I think was worth it, despite popular opinion. The package first goes through Hong Kong registered air mail, then spends some time in International Foreign Dispatch in Hong Kong, and then magically appeared at my local post office (you can track it with USPS after a couple of days, which gives you more info). I'm not sure how it managed to make it from Hong Kong through customs and to me in 8 days, I'm amazed.

Hope this helps someone out.

I can relate. I bought x5 50mW laser pens from them. 2 @ ~50mW, the other 3 were overspec'd. Also, your right, their shipping number is complete SH*T. It didnt work for me either, nor did my emails.

perhaps should've gone with DX.

If shipping time is what you dont like, then DX would be a nightmare.

I received my ledshoppe 50 1 day ago.
It seems very unstable, not often it runs on full power.
It dims quickly even with new batteries. Have to take it on and off many times before suddenly it runs on full power, and it dont last long.

Is it worth sending them an email and complain?

Mine arrived last week, but i never measured 50mW. Even with powerful, fresh batteries I can't get marks on black tape or plastic, nor can it light a match. I'm not sure how much mW I need for those (can anyone confirm?) but I see plenty of youtube vids with 30 or even 5mw's bursting balloons and cutting plastic.

I'm a little disappointed.

I mailed them and I could return it for a new one, but shipping is nearly as much as the laser was. That being said, they offer good service.

Just got my 50mw and 5mw today. Received it 12 days after ordering, not too bad considering the holidays.

Don't waste the $2 for the tracking. According to it my lasers are still in Hong kong.

My lens got dirty today, there is a huge pizza around the dot.
I used a q-tip very carefully, it became better, but not perfect.
Is there a easy way to clean the lens?
Very difficult because of the small hole.

If you can't remove the end of the laser to gain access to the lens, you can try this. When I have a laser with a dirty lens that has a small hole, I make my own SMALL Q-TIP. I take a toothpick & break off the very tip. This leaves an end that's all ragged & splintered. Then take a regular Q-TIP & pull some of the cotton off of it. Next, place a TINY drop of super glue on a NON-POROUS piece of material, (piece of steel, chunk of broken tile, etc.) Gently wet the end of the broken end of the cracked off tooth-pick in the glue, then roll a small amount of the cotton on the end, making a mini-Q-TIP. Wait for the glue to dry, (a couple of minutes), & you'll have yourself a miniature Q-TIP that's small enough to go through the hole in your laser to clean the lens of your laser. You may want to dip the end in some ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL. It will help clean your lens.
