Cool Lazerer

AHHHHHHHHHHH the frustration! It has been 21 days and my order of a 100mw 405nm laser has finally shipped. Great, right? NO. Apparently the glasses I got with it are temporarily out of stock. Of course this is not entirely their fault but still, it's sad. Overall Lazerer and Max(The owner) have been very helpful with the problems I've had with this order. Hopefully my laser will be great.

Why it takes so long for them to ship your order? I ordered from them twice and both orders shipped within 3-4 days. By the way a 100mW 405nm should be very comfortable to look at without goggle. Just beware not to look at the aperture directly.

Well apparently Paypal never notified them that my payment cleared. So my order was sitting there for like 20 days until finally Max and I resolved it, and he set it to processing. Then he shipped it in about a day. and okay cool, so reflections wont be too bad? I'm somewhat new to lasers.

You should contact them earlier. In this case they actually processed your order within a day. That is good.

I would not think for a minet that a 100mw beam would be comfortable to look at !
Do some more reading in the safety section of this forum, and you will see that anything over 5mw can cause eye damage.
A reflection from your laser "will" cause your eyes harm.

I would wait till your goggles arrive to do any laser tricks, like poping balloons or burning.
Don't risk your eye site!!!!!!!

What do you mean too bad? If its a 100 mW laser it could blind you instantly, well instantly fry that part of the retina the beam hits. Reflections are definitely NOT ok, diffuse reflections on a dark matte surface wont be too bad, but it'll depend on your distance from the reflecting surface. IF however you have a specular reflection it will be very bad.

Don't risk it! Wait for the glasses if you want to use it indoors and don't even consider burning with out them!

As your eyes are less sensitive to 405 nm (Vis - near UV), than they are to more "visible" wavelengths, the beam will not appear as bright and as a consequence the the dot too will not seem unbearably bright. This does not mean that it is any less dangerous.....

This is not good advice! Please don't make dangerous suggestions, even if you understand the risks others may not!

Edit: Lowell Beat me to it!

That is good advice, grainde.

I'm glad you gave your opinion also. I'd hate to here later that one of the newer members got eye damage by taking bad advice. Or misunderstanding someones enturpitation of comfortable to look at.

Thank you very much. That could've ended very badly. I'll make sure to wait for the glasses. Also, do any of you know how far you can see the actual beam of a green laser at different wattage levels? If that makes sense.

Right now I own nothing but Lazerer lasers, lol. Mainly cause I'm new and haven't expanded into the market more, but also because Max's provides great service. Every single one of my orders is always shipped in just over 24 hours, and is at my house in Florida in 4 business days.
