got the lpm today but what kind of connector is the data cable and where can i buy a usb adapter that works with vista? :-?

I believe it is a 9 pin serial cable. If your computer has a 9 pin serial connector (some old ones did) you can just buy the serial cable and plug it in. If you need an adapter, look for a serial to USB adapter/converter/cable. Buy.com has one for about 12 bucks http://www.buy.com/prod/cables-to-g...ter-cables-to-go-port/q/loc/101/10323411.html. I think they are also referred as a RS-232 serial cable. Here is an example of a mini connector if you already had a serial (modem) cable http://www.usbgear.com/USBG-232MINI.html . Good luck.

i didnt do a review but murudai did. look around cuz i think its in the same section as this is. it does work great and i made mine more portable by putting it in a box and adding a 9v plug to it. ;D
Yeah, great little meter.
Oh, and when you find my review, you'll find one of my problems was that the software power display was a little out from the actual meter power. However, I figured out how to fix that, there is a correction factor you can adjust in the software.
But it would be nice to have that in the instructions

the Gain MUST to be set at 1.
We send straight mW values to the PC Interface Software. The exact same value
that is displayed on the LCD.
The software defaults to a gain of 1 when first booted. The gain is a multiplication
factor that was used for the original DIY Power Meter by "nimrod".
But........ you are correct it should be in the Instructions.
Anyone with a LaserBee I will be able to download a corrected copy in a few days
at the same URL that was supplied when the LaserBee I was purchased.
