thanks... I didn't see many here recommend any *other* sites though... is jet a site favorite over say warn, sci-fi, or luck?

And while I do agree that wicked has a very slick host, and the adapters are very novelty-cool, they are damn expensive... But then, so is the cost to make all of their ads and videos... :)

Yep, IMHO, Jetlasers is one of the best Chinese companies to deal with; good overspec. lasers, and great customer service!
I hear good things about sci-fi also; it is run by a member (Thejoker301), here on LPF.
I would say away from warn and luck laser.

BTW - Welcome to LPF! :)

@Smeerworst and Cel, thank you very much guys!

I was just speaking from my personal experiences; I have no history with WL, and don't feel any need to pile on them for their past history. :)

Had to wait like a week for my WL Nano to ship due to Chinese New Year, learned my lesson (don't order around holidays)!

Edit: It was actually longer than a week, probably two-three weeks total, processing, holiday..

I purchased with PayPal from them, bad idea. They have to ask you what you ordered if you pay with PayPal.. Which adds another 1-3 daya

I purchased a WL Arctic, as you can see by my signature, and it's very great quality and has many desirable features. Mainly safety features. But recently Jetlasers has released 3.5W,4W,4.5W and 5W 445nm PL-E Pro lasers, most being internally focusable! I am very interested in buying one of these since the $400 for the WL was a total ripoff. I'm sorry WL, but it's your products are too pricey. Anyways, I can sacrifice a little build quality for 3x the power, internal focusing, and better features like the temporary beam button and AC power. Long story short, after owning a WL for almost a year now, I have become bored of not having the ability to focus the beam easily, and 1.7W (my peak output) is getting boring... I'd rather be able to enjoy 3x the laser for the same price as the WL 2W that came out no too long ago. Personally, I'm looking to sell my WL to buy from Jetlasers anyway sometime soon lol.

My point being, the WL was a dream come true until I found out that there were less famous companies making WAAAY better lasers. You are paying for the name brand, and tbh it's not that great. So if I had to buy from either company, it'd be JL not WL. Still your choice though ;)

Also, WL takes a long time to ship... I got it a little after 2 weeks, but still. JL has always been delivered ( from what I've seen people say) in 5 days or less. So that's pretty awesome. Also, unbeatable customer service, any questions I have, Gray at Jetlasers answers, even drew me a diagram once!

You should post a review of it in action;)

Lol of the Arctic or of the PL-E Pro?
Also, I don't have a nice camera, just iPod or iPhone... Pics of the beam are easily washed out. But I could always try normal daytime or burning pics I guess

Hey Munk, I think you'll like J/L's focusing, besides being internal, it works very smoothly.
And IMHO, I don't think you'll be giving up any quality at all!

What I meant was that everything on the WL is working, I have every bit of certainty that the JL are much better, I certainly am not discrediting JL because their host are beautiful (I like the silver) and well machined. I was just stating that WL has a really well established build quality, and that JL isn't as reputable. And I CERTAINLY want the internal focus, it's a dream come true! No complaints there!

Maybe there's a typo there? Or maybe you meant "well known" as opposed to "reputable"?

JetLasers (JL) has been around quite a while, and has established/earned a great reputation for build quality and service. There are dozens of threads here from current and previous years, regarding both individual and group buys from JL. I have not seen a single one where JL was anything other than reputable (or super-reputable). Wicked Lasers (WL) has a checkered past, so while I think they have improved a lot, I also think most everyone here would say JL has a superior reputation to WL whether you are talking about build quality or service.

I am not a WL hater. I do dislike their marketing, and they misled people in 2010, and I don't think their prices are competitive. Yet my personal experiences with their shipping and service (all in 2013) have been OK, and the products I have gotten from them (an Arctic and two Nanos) work well so far. For someone collecting, or someone who really wants a feature specific to WL hosts (like the smart switch, or the interchangeable lens kits for example) -- I say "go ahead" as long as you know what you are getting for your money.

But for most people in most situations, better options exist -- and I think JL is one of them. I have personally found the quality, features, prices, and service to all be better with JL.
