To my knowledge, they are FDA compliment, both of my sourcing companies claims that the houses are, but after personal research, I have also concluded that they are. They don't have a time delay, but they have a key lock, LED indicator, and IR Filter... Hopefully that is enough.

Just wondering, how does amazon sell 50 and 100mw lasers that are simply push button pen style? They are definitely not FDA compliant.

They don't. Take a look again.

Don't conclude anything. Your lasers have to have a time delay to be FDA compliant. Read the FDA site where it concerns lasers.

Agreed. If a recall correctly, when a violation is discovered there is a mandatory recall and a fine - definitely not worth it. :(

Please dont think we are trying to discourage you. The more laser retailers the better. But the US is very strict, and we dont want to see anyone fail. Dont listen to your suppliers, always go to the source for information.

Good luck.

Hey there,

I own a laser company that sells lasers at festivals, raves, and events. We've been doing very well, and have decided to move launch an online store. I have an LPM so all of the lasers on our website will be EXACTLY on spec, a 100mw will be EXACTLY 100mw, ect... (Guaranteed!)

Our lasers range from 5mw to 1watt, but I am not sure what to price them. I am looking for everyone's honest opinion on pricing. These lasers ship from the US, keep in mind.

5mw (Green Only)
10mw (R,G,V)
30mw (R,G,V)
50mw (R,G,V) - This is Guaranteed to pop balloons (Or its free)
100mw (R,G,V)
150mw (R,G,V) - This will light matches (Or its free)
200mw (Green)
250mw (Violet)
500mw (Blue)
1 Watt (Blue)
- All lasers are rated with IR filtered out
- Lasers come with a quality display box, and energizer batteries

Other information:
- They all ship from the US, no more dealing with customs

i go to every rave in southern california and now in vegas.... LASERS are not allowed, and entry is denied. Further more i have never seen a merch booth selling lasers inside.

My "most amazing portable laser ever" has a time delay you could say... You've got to hold the power button down for well over 1 second before it turns on.

You are probably referring to EDC, the Electronic Daisy Carnival in LA... The biggest rave. Yes, lasers are not allowed, we were not allowed to vend there.

But with that in mind, most events have a much more relaxed policy, they allow us to vend them, assuming we provide proper laser safety instructions to all the customers. (We only sell 5mw lasers at events though, overspec 5mw lasers, but 5mw, nonetheless)

We also sell a bunch of other items, LED accessories, Neon Apparel, Glow Gear, ect... So we are not exclusively lasers (though our online site will be)

Just sounds dangerous to me. People drinking/partying and maybe on something with lasers... Dosnt sound like a good idea to me. Especially overspec 5mw lasers possibly putting out up to 40mW. : /

On the FDA standpoint.. Don't 'think' or 'assume' they're approved. And don't trust the vendor, especially a chinese one, when they tell you they're approved. If they're missing ANY of the required safety features, then they AREN'T approved. And even if they have them all they still might not be approved. Get the accession numbers from the vendor, then call the FDA and verify they're correct and not just made up.

I'm a bit afraid you gonna sell 1W Lasers to People on Extasy. Give a free Goggle would be nice.

Unfortunately I dont think you'll do to well here at LPF. Most of us have no problem ordering our lasers from over seas. I hardly think you'll be able to compete as far as price goes. You can at least gain a upper hand on shipping speed.

Word to the wise, don't bullshit anyone here at LPF.
Don't think for for a instance that no one here will try and catch you off guard.
If you make claims as to the spec of your lasers. You better makes sure every single laser you sell is up to your advertised rating. I have been here long enough to know that there are plenty of LPF members. Who will be itching to catch you in a lie.

Good luck

He could price competitively. I have noticed more and more that there are sellers of chinese products on ebay who ship from within the US. In fact its probably cheaper to just send a shipping crate of items over to a warehouse in the US and then distribute from there. I would assume these are Chinese lasers as pretty much all bargain price lasers are.
