I was messing with my "Advanced" laser when I noticed a small, strange metal rod next to the case. I spent some time trying to figure out what it was, and I found out that it was the rod that holds the case together. Out of all the products I've used, I've never, ever had metal rods drop from hinges, but Wicked has managed to do otherwise. The folks at Wicked Lasers should feel really proud of their product qualities.

I've opened most of the WL models and they all have a weird cylinder inside the case, the one in the Pulsar it's probably made of plastic, it's purpose is to prevent the laser module from being pushed down.

The pen-sized CNIs have this cylinder too.

Or maybe you're talking about the brass cylinder which contains the diode, MCA and collimating lens, it acts as a heatsink and it's cylindric form makes it fit inside the case, most pen-sized lasers have this.

I don't know if this is what you mean, otherwise I don't know, but I could figure out since I have opened two of the WL executive models already.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and google doesn't pick up sarcasm. ;)

I'm talking about the laser's case, not the laser itself. And yes, my first post was sarcastic.

From what I've understood , the rod holding one of the hinges on the box just slid out,is that right? :-?

Anyway it doesn't matter if google doesn't pick up sarcasm.Once you read this thread it becomes pretty clear that we think WL sucks.
