Hi, I just wanted to say that if focalprice.com was a scam. I mean I've been looking at comments and theve been saying that if I buy there 200mw green laser they will give me a 5mw laser instead??!?!??!? I'm paying 43 bucks for a 5mw LASER??? Somebody please help.

You need to do more reading and stop making stupid claims.

They are not a scam, they're a good company, and if the off chance you do get an underpowered laser due to their fragile nature, they normally replace them.

I personally suggest you stick with O-like.com or Rayfoss.com.

Not much point in ordering from any Chinese company until the 21st Feb though because they are on their Chinese new year holiday and do not process any orders until the 21st-23rd Feb.

I suggest also you order appropriate safety goggles before purchasing any laser above 5mW's.

You cannot buy 200 mW green laser for 43 $. Forget about that.

Focal and DX are the same about their lasers, you will most likely end up with 100 mW green laser (if you are lucky), with commonly bad beam specs.

How much money = that much quality and reliability
You ain't getting high power quality laser for spare change.

People, I'm not saying that they are a scam. I'm simply asking that if I buy there 200mw green laser will they give me a 5mw laser instead or a simple 200mw green laser, that is most likely to be around ( 130-150mw) possible even less. I'm just asking if they will at least give me a 100mw laser, instead of a 5mw laser. Maybe that can make it more clear.

It's a yes or no question.

you will most likely end up with <100 mW laser, so , I think it is between 'yes' and 'no' :D

I'd take that $43 and save it and later buy a o-like module or something, and build my own laser.
Makes it much more rewarding afterwards :D

Focalprice can be Fuckallprice in some situations but if you order a 200 mw laser you won't get a 5 mw one for sure.

Don't be so sure Silver... Sh't happens!

You can always get 50 mW module from olike for 30$ flat and assemble it yourself into a laser and be sure to have 50 mW laser, with good quality, not a modehoping, power flucatating, fast diverging POS.

Or for two bucks more , get a finished 50mW laser in silver/chrome pen style housing, also on O-like.

I ordered the 100mW Focalprice 532nm pen.(only because PayPal had a $20 rebate going at the time.) Shipped fast. Measures 85mW, with a very divergent beam, no mode hopping, heavy host, good feeling switch. I ended up with a very good (for a cheap Chinese) laser.. :wave: I would have still been very happy with it, if I'd paid full price.

Blame ME! I was the one who told Nister5 to stay clear of focalprice, based on half a year of reading this board, it's my fault, I accept responsibility, so feel free to bash me, not the OP.

So why do so many members have horror stories??

yobresal went nuts on the board over them ripping him off????

I was expecting crap myself. As I stated, the only reason I bought it was the $20 rebate. I have read mostly - reviews about Focalprice before I bought this one.
I figured I'd only be out a couple bucks if it was crap. This one from FP turned out to be the best Newwish 532nm pointer I have.(6, not counting this one)
Everyone deserves to get a lucky break once in their life. LOL

I wouldn't take the chance again, unless PP offers another rebate.

Yes you may have got lucky, it happens, Hell I got a 532nm laser rated at 30mw off ebay for $8 that cuts plastic cups!!!!

I might have gotten the only good one they have ever sold. :crackup:
Quality control is soooo bad on these. But it does prove that there are good ones sold by FP.
How many percent of them are?
The only way to know for sure is to buy 1000 and test them all.
You try it first, Wayne. Let me know how it goes.:na: LOL
