Have you ever heard of this Italian company before?
I've found this:
Green Laser Pointer - Puntatori Laser Verde 532nm :: SUPER LASER 700mW - FantaLaser - Puntatori Laser - componenti per GreenLaser - informazioni e vendita on line

I've contacted them and they've told me that for €1'190 I can have a 1W pointer assembled in that same body, is that possible for such a low price?
They claim to measure all units before shipping using a Coherent portable power meter, but I'm not 100% sure it measures only green (not counting IR I mean)...
What do you think?

I wouldn't trust it for that kind of money. That portable Coherent meter is probably the LaserCheck which gets thrown off horribly if there is any IR coming from the laser.

I have bought from them a green laser some time ago. It 'a company that sells laser obtained from other companies but I assure you that green lasers have IR filters. Generally lasers are good, except that sometimes the power is overestimated.

LOL and here I was expecting a custom soda can laser build. :crackup:

There is no way I would pay 1000 EUR for a laser of unknown quality. I can tell you with 90% certainty that you will not be satisfied with your purchase. Those hosts are generally used by low-end laser manufacturers. Fantalaser is just another new generic laser retailer. Members have been disappointed and agitated with similar vendors in the past.

With the current exchange rate:

1000EUR = 1500USD

1500USD = RPL-450 (top of the line) http://www.optotronics.com/rpl-green-lasers.php

The Optotronics RPL will ensure a few things:

-great divergance
-on-spec laser (well actually over-spec)
-GREAT (trustworthy) customer service
-great warranty
-looks damn good in the new silver host

This is for ALL MEMBERS, VISITORS, ETC, when it comes to purchasing your EYE PROTECTION, PLEASE, PLEASE, DO NOT scrimp on how much you pay for them !!!
Also, try & purchase only "CERTIFIED" EYE PROTECTION !!!! Your EYES are far too precious to take chances with cut rate goggles. None of us on the Forum want to read about ANYONE being blinded from a laser, ESPECIALLY if it's 'cause someone decided to save some cash on their EYE PROTECTION. Thanks for reading this people.
I don't profess to be the Forum Police, I just want everyone, especially the NEW PEOPLE, to be VERY AWARE of how important your EYE PROTECTION is. Thanks, rob

FAIL! this would mean that those crystals have 200% efficiency :thinking::crackup:
you mean 1000mW, right?

I think this wants some testing... IgorT, daguin etc.

Yes :) it's a mistake, I read in the previous posts that the pointer is a 1W green laser.

Without forced air cooling this would be impossible. It might PEAK at 1W but it won't hold that power for more than a couple seconds.

The Hercules 650 Peaks at 700mw and that has forced air cooling and is a HUGE portable and beside that costs 6,800usd

doubt they can maintain that advertised 1W output
