Thumbs down DealExtreme - save yourself the grief

When is a good deal not a good deal? When you only get half the product that you order and that half doesn't work. I 've seen enough of these problems posted to know that this isn't a slipup, it's a way of doing business. I've tried to chase these crooks down half way around the world, but that's a losing battle. It wasn't that expensive to learn that they have no intention of satisfying their customer, or even delivering working goods. I've learned my lesson, I wish that I had listened to others. Will you learn from my experience?

Dealextreme don't check their items, they simply buy them from the manufacturer and ship it to you. Sure they are a bit slow, but if you get a bodgy item, DX isn't to blame, they don't make their products. Sorry to hear you got ripped off here, but "you get what you pay for".

Hey, I don't care how the process works. If a reseller sells you a bad/defective product, then the reseller is liable.

I think you are right, they are playing the game of middleman. Their business model seems to be to wash their hands once they get the money and ship anything (partial, broken, whatever). But they want to do business in our countries and they need to pull up their ethics a notch and provide customers the minimum that they expect in any given market. If they don't, there will more notes like mine and their market share will dwindle. And finally they won't make enough money to make it worth while to put out even the modicum of effort that they are now. When that day comes, I hope that all their LPF customers will be long gone - because they are going to take the money and run and there will be no recourse. I hope no one here gets stuck holding the bag, even for a few bucks. Low price matters, but it's only part of the equation. I think that it may have been Aldo Gucci who said “The bitterness of poor quality is remembered long after the sweetness of low price has faded from memory.”

middleman or reseller should take the responsiblity of the quality-assurance instead of the manufactrurers. they can add this to their cost budget. factories often have quality assurance. if the laser is defective, they will exchange for the customers.
