I am interested in buying a 300mw or 500mw 532nm LP.

So far I have seen these:

PL 520nm 532nm 100-1000

Powerful Crown upgrade 500mW green laser torch/waterproof [OL-532-500] - $239.99 : Zen Cart!, The Art of E-commerce

LZCR - 532nm 500mW High Power DPSS Green Laser Pointer

LZSK - Stick 532nm 500mW High Power DPSS Green Laser Pointer

RIFLE532nm V2 - 500mW Focusable High Power DPSS Green Laser Pointer

Spartan 300mw
Green Laser Pointers : Dragon Lasers

Jetlasers (Due to the fact that I could never visit jetlasers.org/jetlasers.com, I wanted to ask how the prices would be?): Are 300mw or 500mw 532nm LP from jetlasers way more expensive like 600$? Cause my budget would be around 300$.

Do you know any other good companies where I can get a really nice 300-500mw green laserpointer for under 300$?

And some general questions:

- If my country won't allow such a laserpointer: will I get my money back from the company I bought from if they don't ship me the laser?

- Do I need to wear safety goggles when only pointing at stars outdoors like this guy here (he is not wearing goggles):

correct me if I'm wrong: You need safety goggles if:

- you look directly into the laser (obviously)
- if the reflection (from a mirror or something) hits your eyes
- if you look at the dot inside/outside (close range)

but you do not need goggles if you just look after the beam (when aiming at sky or a distant house)?

One: don't look into the laser ever! Even with the goggles on
Two: don't point where people may be

Use common sense when star pointing. IE don't point at moving objects.

Viewing the beam itself without goggles is OK so long as it poses no danger of being reflected back at you. Viewing the dot requires goggles.
There's lots of safety tips all throughout here. Don't be afraid to use the search bar on the bottom. Learn what the dangers are for the four classes of lasers

it pretty hard to explain so for 532nm green laser 500mw is $500 and $1000 for 1000mw+
becaus DPSS laser are super expensive and very unstable (temperature sensitive).

-and 520nm uses direct diode therefore a lot cheaper and better so for $300 dollar you can get 1000mw+...

520nm 1000mw cost $300 while 532nm 1000mw cost $1000...

for 500mw of 520nm you'll still pay $300 because the diodes are rated for 700mw+...

Yep. This cost me ~$300. ~$50 for the host+battery (plenty of other places to get it), ~$250 for the driver+diode from DTR. But if you find a vape host that can take 2 batteries, you can use all 700mW :)

alot less.... DPSS are very unstable... they can start out as 500mw for the first 10 seconds and the out put decreases all the way down to 200mw...

while green diode laser out put stay the same until the battery runs out.

You asked about if your country does not allow it in. I may have missed it but what country are you in?

I will comment on a couple you linked to.
The dragon lasers Spartan isn't focusable.
I personally own that crown upgrade 500mW one and I have also seen a few others here have one and to my knowledge everyone's has been over 500mW. If I had to choose from what you listed that's the one I would buy bang for buck. The PL 532nm will have the best build quality but you can't afford higher than 300mW version although 300mW of 532nm is really bright as in equivalent to 3W of blue. Can't beat green when we're talking brightness per mW per dollar.
You could buy a much more powerful blue laser for $300 but then it wouldn't be green;) For that matter you could also buy around a 1W red for cheap but that also wouldn't be green:). For that matter you could also buy a violet 800mW laser for cheap but the beam wouldn't be very visible although it would burn things well but still wouldn't be green :D. Sorry, couldn't resist. My favorite color is green and I was on a roll.
As noted you can also have someone build you a 520nm with twice that output and the output will be stable in comparison. The 532nm will have a better divergence (thinner beam and also nicer dot) although most like the color of the 520nm more from my observations. A 532nm beam is about 10% brighter than a 520nm and the dot is about 20% brighter.
Regardless of what you do safety glasses are a must have as others have noted other than looking at the beam with no chance of getting a reflection back to you. Lots of fun to be had as long as you keep safety as a top priority.
I'll ask also. What country are you in?

Thanks for the answer Pman. It's really difficult to choose the right laser, heck even the right color. I still don't know if I want a 532nm or 520nm.

FUBeaches told me that 532nm could be critical in Switzerland but this year the temperatures didn't go below 10 degrees often. at the moment it's about 12! And it's in the middle of the winter (well ok this winter is a mild one but still).

I am considering those 2 now:

Powerful Crown upgrade 500mW 532nm green laser torch/waterproof

Powerful Crown upgrade 500mW green laser torch/waterproof [OL-532-500] - $239.99 : Zen Cart!, The Art of E-commerce

Arcane 2.0 520nm 1-1.4W
Arcane 2.0 520nm

and for blue lasers I consider:

Arcane 2.0 445nm 2-2.6W
Arcane 2.0 445nm

2.4+ Watt 445nm blue laser in 501B casing --> $175, G2 lens and the bigger 9mm diode from Blord

EDIT: NO LASERS FROM LUCKLASERS

As far as blue lasers are concerned the most important criterion for me is that the laser doesn't have a big divergence.

Jesus it's so difficult.... The more I look around, the more lasers come into consideration :(

*edit*

the good thing about ordering from sci fi lasers is that the laser will make it through the customs (as he sends 2 packets).

alot less.... DPSS are very unstable... they can start out as 500mw for the first 10 seconds and the out put decreases all the way down to 200mw...

while green diode laser out put stay the same until the battery runs out.

and yet again another thing learned :thanks:
DPSS will be ignored from now on! ;-)

You asked about if your country does not allow it in. I may have missed it but what country are you in?

Aight I edited my post! ;D

Does anyone have a youtube video of the "Powerful Crown upgrade 500mW green laser torch/waterproof [OL-532-500] - $239.99 : Zen Cart!, The Art of E-commerce"?
