I have noticed visitor count is way down, well it looks like it, I could be wrong but it used to stay around 15k and now it's a third of that.

I wish the banner and the person would disappear, but until then, if we care about the forum, we should stop with the bad press, it could be driving people away, not that eitan didn't do a great job of dragging us through this dirt, but we should maybe let it settle and not kick it up unnecessarily.

Anyone who has not filed a paypal claim should do so asap!

Yes and I seriously doubt anyone who bought from him in the last month hasn't popped in and seen the goings on, even when we go silent about it just clicking the dead end banner will alert anyone, that's what I care about, that he does not keep one red cent that someone could recover, but I think we have let everyone know, I sure hope so.

So to anyone still following this thread, I'm not sure how to handle my PayPal claim.

As I put in my other review thread I DID get my Arcane 2.0 3w about two weeks or so ago, but it was the wrong host color and damaged/poorly manufactured (button didn't work, focus ring falls off).

PayPal wants me to ship it back to Israel w/ tracking to get me my refund. I don't mind shipping it back, but I can't find a service that offers tracking and isn't $60+. USPS first class and priority mail both don't offer tracking and are already $40 each.

What options are there? I can't get a refund without providing a service + tracking number and I don't want to pay half the cost of the damn laser to ship it back, since I got sent garbage

Will I even get a refund if his account is locked/negative? Am I better keeping the thing and trying to part it out to make something back?

^^^Probably best keeping it. If the packet is not collected / accepted by him you probably wont get a refund due to non-delivery and youll be out a further $ 60. Can you not fix the focus issue with some teflon tape?

NO WAY IN HELL would I send anything to him, EVER, if it involves even a fraction of a percent of trust then NO WAY, he is not trustworthy at all!

Locked yes, negative balance, no.

If you send it back, and it is received, there is still a risk that paypal won't be able to refund you, if there are no funds left in joker's paypal account/linked to bank.

Better off finding someone here in the US to polish it, and fix it up for you. So you're probably better off keeping it.

It sounds like people are being refunded the day after the 10th day when paypal says you'll get it. Elly was supposed to get his on Saturday, but got it Sunday. Thanks, I suspected as much. I guess I'd rather pay someone to clean it up (or do it myself) than spend $50-100 to ship it and possibly not get a refund at the same time.

I'll just close out the dispute since shipping and no guarantee of refund is worrying. It's still not a blue host, but I suppose I can always buy another host for the internals later.

I'll just close out the dispute since shipping and no guarantee of refund is worrying. It's still not a blue host, but I suppose I can always buy another host for the internals later.
Maybe someone would be willing to buy it as it is for the host and the good parts it has.

Try calling paypal, and ask for a partial refund, equal to the shipping cost. They have done that for me in the past. Probably won't anymore, but they are a lot more friendly on the phone vs the online system.

Just don't mention it's for a laser pointer

Laser level, laser range finder, laser marker, epoxy curing laser, laser flashlight... all ok, though I'd just stay away from the work laser altogether when possible.

I would not close the dispute, tell them you don't trust him to send it back nor do you wish to incur the expense of shipping, but you do want t be compensated.

Keep that dispute on him as long as you can, he's just waiting to get his hands on that money.

If there is damage he should have to compensate, if not make them close it, deny that thief as long as you can.
