Hey Mohrenberg do you remember selling me my first host that blue hotlights you had lol long time good to see ya....

That is why 9x out of 10 lol I never buy diodes and down to the little things such as wire from places like ebay. I ran out of the famous 22&26 gauge wire and just for shits and giggles I did a search on ebay and came acroos an amazing deal on 10ft of red&black wire from a china dealer for 3.99$ W/free shipping... Still ended up coming back here as always and made my purchase through flaminpyro, not just to support a fellow forum member but know that its going to be exactly what I need no questions asked.. I don't care how much money I could be saving shopping somewhere else. Anytime I buy from anyone here I know I'm getting gold!!! It's Christmas everyday in the forums lol :san::san::san:

Wish I could afford this attitude lol

Does anybody know of a cheap lpm with a budget mindset because I have alot of student loan payments I have to make lolol

Lasersbee is still the only "cheap" source I know of, and that's still going to cost you 300-400.

The replacement for the Radiant X4 is supposed to be available in the near future for probably $200 or less. They will be sold here:
Illumn.com - Flashlights, Batteries, Carry Gear, Intelligent LED Lighting, and More!

I better not get an a140 lol I will definitely let you know if I do!

Based on what he is saying in the listing it is probably a M140 M-Type but the part that raises my eyebrow a little is the "with stock lens part". The M140 projectors did have individual stock lenses like that when they first came out but quickly within like 6 months after and up till they were discontinued years later they have all had a single piece sheet lens in them. I know there are a lot of people buying used M140's to pull diodes from. They pop up on eBay and usually are quickly sold. There is something that will stick out on diodes that have been run for a few thousand hours though. They tend to develop a near transparent half moon looking defect right through the center of the raw output which is one way to spot them and also running these heavily used diodes with a three element lens causes a shadow box underneath the spot almost like you were using a G-2 lens but slightly less pronounced.

Anyway now that the M140 has been discontinued(meaning nobody is actually pulling diodes from new M140's these days as there are no new M140's and trust me I have checked every source I can think of for new old stock that may be sitting around somewhere) I have to pull diodes from the M141's that are made in Japan as they and the ST series are the only way to get new M140 M-Type diodes. You can get new H series but they are mostly A-type with a few M-type in the center. So it is basically just the M141 series now except a few times they have been clearing out stock of the ST models where it becomes worth it but both options are a little more expensive than the M140 per diode. The M141 has about a $40 bump in price and has one less diode than the M140.:(

Anyway as long as you get what you pay for and you are happy with it that is all that matters. My bet is you will be happy with what you get.
The 2W 445 diodes are so convoluted these days I don't bother trying to figure out what other sellers are doing as there is no way to know what they really have going on. I just offer the best deal I can on the genuine product.

Nice Info! Makes me wonder if they have a line on new old stock projectors. Do you know if the Nichia 1.6w 5.6mm from say techhood is actually the same diode as the m140 like they claim? I was wondering about this.

Yea I wouldn't buy from that seller. If for nothing else than the fact they try to market the stock lens as usable (lawl, no), and throw in lotsa random B.S. In the description about how the M diodes are the same as A diodes blah blah blah. Marketing gimmicks. But unfortunately it's working for them, thanks to the mass if ignorant people in the world (not stupid, ignorant).

I think what they are trying to say is they have A series diodes from the M140 also and they dont want you to confuse them with A140's because they believe them to be bind higher dunno if im right but thats my take..

At any rate I ordered already might be in that ignorant bunch. lol

As for the LPM Nospin I think still makes them . It's a Ophir thermopile and a encased led read out in two colors, red and blue to match safety glasses of the wavelength. If he still makes them they run about 399.00 or cheaper I don't recall. They are set all the way to meter 5W's . I have one it's awesome very well built you won't be disappointed. As for the diode DTR is the way to go don't put you diode or builds in harms way. You spend a lt of time and money to be thrifty about 4 bucks. Well that's your call I say penny wise dollar foolish that applies here. Well good luck and hope the diode works out . PSU,LPM are a must if your going to be building.

Personally I'm always checking Ebay and here for A-140s on the cheap. Have snagged a few in the past for $15 from an LPF member. Hard to argue with 1.5W for that price;)
Seeing quite a lot of pulls from used projectors with the sellers stating how many hours are on them but I certainly wouldn't trust them.
I certainly support our members as they well know. Not going to worry about a few bucks but it does have its limits. Used to order from China a lot more when the $ was flowing well but now I don't want to wait so long for the slow shipping and I and the member feel better if I keep most of my business here.
Just wish there were more less expensive diodes around. Purchase LPC-826 650/660nm (easy 300mW+) and blu-ray 405s (at 150mW) for $6 and $3.50 respectively from a US Ebay seller and drive them with those $3 or so Aixiz drivers (2 for $6) and put them in all kinds of things. Want more options like that to fill in the gap before the $30 choices. There's some IR options but they aren't that interesting.

Well everything seems ok I got the diode today in 2 days and it does have the circle next to the barcode I powered it at 1.5amps in a module for a few cycles the output seems on par with my other builds so I'm happy. I will try to get some pics soon.
