Ok...I'll bite.  I have never heard anything good about this company.  I am sure they will send you a laser once you pay for it.  However, I would insure they guarantee the power rating and will accept a return if it does not meet expectations.  The problem with all of their lasers is their recommended duty cycle/run time.  They all have short run times due to their inferior method of keeping the laser diode cool...basically none.  Also, is the max power based on a peak or a sustained average power rating.  Meaning that their 400mW laser may peak to that power setting for 2 seconds and then settle to 50mW's for the remainder of their 20 seconds recommended run time.  Personally, if I were to spend that kind of money I would spend it at one of the more reputable dealers.  My 2 cents...

QFT.
If you have the money for a high powered laser then buy it from a reputable dealer.

i wouldnt really trust any site that sells green pointers and red pointers of equal power at the same price. and they have some pretty high powered pens.. i didnt think it was smart to put 100mws of green in a pen host....

There are plenty of companies here that have a reputation for high quality lasers. You're more than welcome to take the chance, but most people here would recommend paying a little more for products of guaranteed quality.

Furthermore, even if your unit is up to spec, their warranty lasts 90 days and they give no indication of a typical diode's life. If it dies shortly after that 90 day period, then the lower price definitely isn't worth it.

OK guys. Can anyone make any suggestions? About 6 years ago I got a green laser rifle sight from BeamQ. I think it was sold as 50mw at less than $60. What I received is clearly visible at over 30 or 40 yards in bright daylight. It’s great. I assume it was a mistake in my benefit. I now need one like it. I ordered a 200mw green laser sight for $80 from BeamQ two weeks ago and paid for standard 1 to 2 week delivery. Nothing in the mail yet and no answer to email in the last week.

If I got ripped-off, I still need a similar green laser sight from someone. I’m looking at 100mw sights from LaserTo.com or HighLasers.com for $120. Anyone know anything about either, or are you saying that price is too low to be any good?

last post was 12 years ago....

read the reviews--that is why we post them.

Buying from an unknown company is always risky-- so.... why do that??
good luck

Ok. I gather you don't want me around here. For some years now, I've been using "green laser rifle sights" visible in moderate daylight for vermin. My wife can't hit a damn thing without her's. She had what claimed to be a 50mw green sight that "recently" turned out to look like about 5mw maybe. All I want to do is replace it. I've searched all your "good" companies, and find no "Sights" that can be adjusted up/down left/right. I thought someone might be willing to help. I guess I'll just go away and take a chance with some outfit.

Before I go, maybe someone can tell me how much power I really need see the green dot at 80 feet in daylight. I've had 5mw, 30mw and
50mw red and green over the years, and the only thing I've learned is don't believe the rating!

Doesn't matter if someone doesn't want you around here, it takes a whole lot to get someone run off, after all, I'm still here :p I can only guess the answer for your green and red spots, I believe you will be able to see green at 50 mw, but I'd try 100 mw instead, not sure about red. If you choose red, use the shortest wavelength of red you can get at the most power available, 638nm is fairly good, 650 poor.

Even at 100 mw green might not really stand out well during full direct sunlight, likely fairly faint. I would go test for you, but I don't have any green pointers that low of an output. Better get more feedback on this.

Thank you very much. That matches what I would guess. I have a 6 year old green laser sight I got from BeamQ back then. I's clearly visible, in sunlight at 80 feet or more. It was advertised as 50mw green, but I'm sure I got more than I paid for. It came with no tail switch. Only a pressure pad switch and a tail cap. So, I just tighten the tail cap a half turn and it's great. The pressure pad switch is only about half as bright, but I wouldn't use it anyway.

This time I ordered a 200mw green, that's almost a week overdue, and I'm hoping it's not overkill if it's not a ripoff. Like I said, I have no way knowing if i got more than I paid for, or if a lower output is really enough.

I have no problem dealing with a more reputable (more expensive) company, if any of them sold laser rifle sights higher than 5mw.

The ability of QBeam to sell to anyone at their 3 to 4X inflated prices surprises me, I refuse to buy from someone with that high of a mark up, but looking at what they are doing, they have a network of sellers with advice of how to get people to buy them regardless of being so over priced which works, at least, some of the time, apparently. Maybe others would not see it that way, but to me, you come across as a salesman for them, we get that kind of thing a lot here on LPF, people coming in and trying to put different web store names out, but in every instance, they are overpriced, and why they need to do that, instead of making sales due to an attractive price.

I assure you i'm not working for anyone. Not BeamQ or QBeam whoever that is... I searched the web looking for laser sights, as I did 6 and more years ago. Can anyone give me a better place to look? So far, if BeamQ turns out to be a ripoff, I'm looking at 100mw green on LaserTo or HighLasers. They both want $120 for 100mw green sights. The 200mw green I'm waiting for from BeamQ was $79 before $20 shipping.

If they're a ripoff, can anyone give a better place to look? Please.

You're gonna get a lot of replies from schizophrenic origins sadly. I wish I could help you but I haven't bought any myself. I always wanted to make my own but just don't own any fire arms at the moment to bother. We now have direct green diodes so making them is much easier now and can be adjusted for accuracy far easily.

Thanks. I've had several, starting with 5mw red and learned the hard way. Good in deep shadows at ~40 feet. The only ones that cut it were 50mw green. And, the one much stronger one I got by mistake. They all take almost an hour and over 35 rounds, from a gun vice, to Zero within 1/2 inch, so I hate replacing any, but the one from "Gun Auction" bit the dust and now looks like <5mw. These are all .22s so recoil vibration isn't a real problem.

Today I heard from "BQ" that the one I ordered should be here on the 28th. If it really arives, I can let you know how it is if the guys here aren't annoyed that the only green gun sight with any power I could find was a "cheap $80".

Well the internals can be replaced. The outer case is just that, a case. Let me see some pics of them. Opened if you're willing. We got a guy who can make custom parts (Member LIfetime. He has a for sale sticky) so chances of him not being able to make you a custom heatsink to hold a brand new direct diode and driver is slim to none.
If you go this route you will only need to replace parts should any fail in the future instead of needing to shop around for an entirely new one that you know nothing about it's quality.
