Hey guys, I am currently looking for a decent laser to buy. My budget is around 50 USD, and I would like to get the most powerful one possible. The requirements aren't that strict, seeing as I don't know much about lasers, so the only requirement I have right now is that the laser works with 18650 batteries, and doesn't break after 3 months.

In my long quest to find my laser (which actually lasted ~20 minutes :) ), I have found this one: High Power Green Laser Pointer 200MW 500MW adjustable star burn match + Li-ion Battery+charger, for about 51$ shipped. I chose this one because the seller didn't have many issues with their lasers, and the price was reasonable. I perfectly understand that this laser isn't actually 500mw, more like ~100/200mw, but that is fine for the price. I will also be getting these laser goggles to protect my eyes.

What do you guys think, am I making a good choice? Again, I cannot stress enough how much of a n00b I am with lasers!

you would be lucky if it was 100mw, most of it will be infrared. go to lazerer, and look at their TINY series, 150mw for about 50$ i think, and they have a power check service iswell so you will know how much power your laser is putting out.

To be perfectly honest with you, I really don't see much of a difference between that laser and the ones you find on chinese websites. Plus, if I get scammed using Aliexpress, I'll be able to get a full refund...

true say, but lazerer is much better than aliexexpress, and im sure many people will agree with me. its up to you though, if you want a quality product/service or a rubbish product that will probably break in a week and you will never hear from the seller.

Well I dunno. See, I buy a lot of things form that website and similar ones, and overall, I rarely get scammed. Plus, the seller that I chose has already been there for 3 years, doesn't have many bad reps for their lasers, and is considerably cheaper than the website you recommended me...

Have you looked at the glasses? I'm not sure if they're the good ones.

ever heard of the saying, you get what you pay for? the reason its considerably cheaper, is cause most of their lasers in my opinion wont work properly, why buy something like that when you can buy a quality product for almost the same price.

btw, 500mw greens go for about $200-300.

as for the goggles, go to survivallasers and buy one of their eagle pair, they are the best goggles for the $40 mark, and should do fine against most lasers under 1-2w.
