FYI - While searching through my database of Chinese manufacturers, I came across Yagoo Industrial. These folks claim to offer 700mW 532nm portable lasers with 6 watt pump diodes among other lasers. Several models are listed. Because of that, I am posting their main web address so anyone who chooses can see what they offer. Good Luck!

The 700mW lasers is offered at $1160 per piece at what I'm assuming are GB like quantities.

I'm still learning about all this stuff but do 700mW 6 Watt pump diode portables even exist at any price. This reminds me of the 700 mW lasers I just saw on ebay which appear to be a complete scam.

humz 6 watts of pump power seems way to high for a 700 mw laser.

my 1 watt cni has a 4 watt pump diode.
and even a 4 watt pump diode would not able to keep cool in a portable laser

I don't even know what to make of that.[/highlight]

Personally, if I was marketing a 600mW green handheld, I'd lean a bit more towards the "professional/research" angle and a bit less towards "Austin Powers", but hey - I'M not marketing a 600mW handheld ;D

I agree on the pump diode overkill, unless the entire crystal array is just complete crap - my Hercules has a 2.5w pump diode and peaks at 500, just under 400 constant (although it IS fan cooled, which helps the stability immensely) ...

Anyone get numbers yet ($$$) ?

Well, it was $1160 for that other one, so you can safely assume over $1000 for this green version of the "tin-foil and thermal glue" laser. Anyways, looks like another BobLaser-ish clone to me. Won't bother dealing with them anymore.

I was actually referring to the fact that the listed laser was green, but the picture showed the "tin-foil and thermal glue" (as REVENGE points out) blue laser with a blue line drawn in Paint come out of it. :)

This sounds a lot like the claimed 700mW I bought from Boblaser.com at about the same price. It peaks at a little over 500mW, but only for 30 seconds or so, then it drops steadily down to 300mW or less and won't go back anywhere near it's peak numbers until it's been left off long enough to cool down. At least when I confronted them about it, they gave me a 70% refund, and I kept the laser.

I think its fake it would cost 3/4 of that price just for the laser diode, If your intrested I sell the <500mw skylasers which average 485mw after 20 mins on for 600 uk pounds on ioffer, but if qoute your from the laserpointerforoums i will sell them for 450 uk pounds.

6 Watt pump diode is much to high for 700mW and would need to use KTP not YVO4 for the 1064 lasing medium... otherwise the laser will grey line. Also a 6 Watt pump diode in a laser running on 1 18600 battery? It won't run for very long. Something seems odd about this.
