1W handheld $170 - 445nm diode $20

Thanks for taking the plunge Luke. I wouldn't of done it. Their copyright is out of date, that is if it actually exists. The place looks really fishy IMO.

Its not showing the whole page title. Look at the link in the OP. Thats the whole title, and its not showing just the 445 diode.

Edit: You can assume its for the 445 diode, but it does not directly say it. Also, no way they are selling them that cheap. Something is not right.

I was just on live chat with Wendy from LVYI and she said that the diodes are available in Blue, Green, yellow and red. I also asked if the blues were 445nm the same as the 1w and she said yes that they are and are $20.

Late evening is usually when I am able to get someone on chat. If I had some extra cash I would get some, I would really like a yellow and a green, since my greenie died.

Now you know its a scam. There are no green, and yellow diodes, just modules.

Well, is not totally correct ..... there are some "engineering samples" (prototypes ) green laser diodes ..... last time i've seen their datasheets, if i recall correctly, they was something like 60mW output, and probably the manufacturer ask you like 1000$ for a sample ..... not exactly that what i normally call "cheap sample"

Hope Luke gets his 1W 445nm and if it is >800mW focusable + waterproof I´m going to jump on this.

No problem, If nothing arrives I can afford that. If a vioet laser arrives, I can modify that, if what they claim arrives, I can properly test it. I really hope it is legit.

Yeah... I saw the same thing... It does not have a choice or describe
the Laser Diodes they sell for $20.00...

LvyiLasers came onto the forum a couple of weeks back with multiple accounts. They were pretending to be buyers. They were talking to themselves supporting each others' good impressions of the lasers.

I booted them to the curb. I asked them to return with a company introduction so that they could answer questions from the members. As far as I know, they did not take me up on my invitation.

We know that other LARGE Chinese companies are buying projectors from dealers here in the states to get their 445nm diodes (because they are cheaper here). This is most likely because Casio has an exclusive on the diode runs. If this little flake of a company found another source, it would be more than odd.

Virtually anything is possible in Chinese retail. This could be as simple as that this is a WL employee that ripped some diodes (or a projector) from WL. However, I would wait to see what Luke and Jerry get (or don't get) before taking this plunge.
