I consider it old wavelength. I can't really tell a difference between my 469 and my old 473. So for me I just like having an appreciable power level on it.

I'll tell you a secret...I only own three lasers now. And one of those is my ML Argon. I'll be getting more in the future but right now my collection is at an all time low for quantity and an alltime high for quality. Point is though that having fewer means they don't spend as much time just collecting dust.

Second "462nm" diode (spectro'd at 472nm) showed up. Guessing my first one is around 465-470nm range. This new one is the same color as 473nm. I do not notice any difference whatsoever in color.

I may end up pushing it further than 2.4A in the future... but it deserves a better host before that becomes reality...

...I like this color a lot.

When I had a 473nm DPSS and 457nm DPSS wish id taken comparison photos .

The 457nm looked so very similar to 445nm

As of right now 462nm. May or may not change my mind when I see 488nm for the first time...

Huge. 450nm looks purple in comparison.

hmmm good to know. My PL450b looks purple in my pics in my build thread but in person looks a lot more blue than the pics. ill have to check out a 462nm in person if I am able.

When I first fired up my 462nm, I didn't really see the difference. Then I put a 445nm beside it. HUGE difference. The 445nm instantly looked purple, while the 462nm was a solid blue.

I would like to see 488nm in person, but until then I have to go with 462.

Remember most 462's are probably closer to 470 than 460. So a significant wavelength change.

Yeah, I've got mine set at 1.8A, so I could see it being at 466nm at least. That's based on the specro results I've seen.

Aye, I have one set at 2.4A (472nm) and the other at 1.8A.

Gonna pump up the power on the first one and hopefully get a slightly nicer color.

Lol been there done that. If you take a look at my Build Thread Compendium you will notice that to the side of nearly every one of them is the notation that it was sold or cannibalized. Lol.

I had a 2214 Cyonics multiline argon, that had an output of around 80mw. I kove the teal/turquoise color of that laser. She was a beauty. I would have to say 491nm-505nm is my color.:cryyy:

488 is actually quite green. 470 ish to my eye is sky blue
445 has violet in it, but my newest laser spectro d at 455 and that to me is the truest blue no violet but also no green either. It's new so maybe that is why it's my favorite. Lol
