What is a good blue or yellow laser pointer or module that is worth about 100$ and is 1 watt or more strong?

Weakest yellow is around 3W and costs about $150. Hope the extra $50 won't break your bank. Check out imanidiot.com or itsnotgoingtohappensojustforgetaboutitanddonteverbuyalaser.net

^Lol!

You can't even get a 1mW 594nm for $100. To put it in perspective, a 5mW 594nm laser costs around $300(more or less), now 3W's of 594nm would cost you in the $X,XXX's!!!!!

I think you maybe looking for membership in The Club

I failed the checklist.

That's what I thought. I just felt like combining the sentence with blue if anyone knew of a cheap yellow one. That's why I said I didn't think I could get yellow in my other thread.

I don't think you know enough about lasers to own. Also, your budget tells me you are not very old, so you most likely have very little regard for safety. If you do not already have good safety glasses, you will have to spend $30-40 on safety and have only $60-70 on a laser.

I don't think this forum feels comfortable with providing you info on a powerful laser.
Just do some research first and then ask an educated question. The search bar is there for a reason.

No, it's 100+USD for a laser, not including glasses. Unless glasses come with the laser in package.

And if so, then why not just recommend some neatly sectioned book regarding how everything works and is with lasers, it would seem a lot simpler. You could give the digital copy of the book to all new members, it would get everyone up to speed, to a standard level.

I never understood the fear of powerful lasers. They are just like anything else, bikes, cars, trains, or guns. Bikes, anyone can use. Cars, people start to own at age 16. Who is afraid of trains. And a 12 year old is legally allowed to shoot weapons if watched by an adult. The way I see it, holding back information, hinders technological development itself.

How are lasers identical to bikes?

How are lasers identical to bikes?

In the sense that they are common technology, in our modern era that is dominated by technology. And so:

I don't think this forum feels comfortable with providing you info on a powerful laser.
You'd never hear "I don't think this (imagine a bicycle forum)forum feels comfortable with providing you info on a fast bicycle."

^^ That statement sounds a bit unreasonable and illogical, since it gives the impression of fast bicycles being on the same secretive level of nuclear weapons(when asked to an engineer of nuclear weapons), when bikes are simply common technology. That was my impression to the quote by KRNAZNBOY, where I believe that there is no issue in handing out information on strong lasers.

^It's not that he dosen't want to hand you the information because he's trying to be mean.

He just dosen't want to tell you about high-powered lasers since this community has seen too many new members asking where to get high-powered lasers and have ended up getting themselves hurt.

You are entirely correct. Holding back information hinders technological development. I couldn't agree with you more.

Luckily, none of the information you're seeking has been held back, it's all available on this forum - so start reading.

You are just giving us more reasons not to help you. Trains and bikes, cars and guns will hurt people if handled by idiots. So you are wrong, not anyone can use a laser. People who understand safety concerns can use lasers. You don't agree, you think lasers are toys. So we won't help you.

And your idea of providing books to every new member is the f****** most stupid, entitled, spoon-wanting idea I have ever heard. If a new member can't do basic research by themselves, and just expects to receive info, then they can't POSSIBLY expect to be respected (talking about you)

Start listening to the veterans of the forum, and stop this entitlement.

But that is not this forum's fault. Each high powered laser usually comes with a laser warning sign, and the instructions to a laser include precautions so everything is done with the user's own consent. Also, if someone gets a skin burn, they should learn how to deal with it themselves with basic medical skills. And accidents will happen, like with cars, trains, bikes, computers, etc. It's something that comes with most technology(and can be prevented) But in no way shall it be something used as a reason for not answering new member's questions as they came here for a reason and they know what they could be getting themselves into. Even children have basic knowledge that lasers are harmful if in contact from sci fy movies at least.

How do you explain all the laser strikes then? Most are done by kids.

Ah, well idiots I can't account for. I blame society for such lack of intelligence, schools should teach basic technology like this anyway. And lasers are not toys, but tools.

And your idea of providing books to every new member is the f****** most stupid, entitled, spoon-wanting idea I have ever heard. If a new member can't do basic research by themselves, and just expects to receive info, then they can't POSSIBLY expect to be respected (talking about you)

Well, a book can be handed out to everyone by a download before making an account if they are new to lasers, like the Terms of Service before making an account.

And how am I asking to be spoon fed information, all I did with this thread was ask the people's opinion for a blue laser that's worth about 100$, and I have searched for lasers, I'm just asking for an opinion to see if there are other options available that I missed.

How do you explain all the laser strikes then? Most are done by kids.

With this: "Ah, well idiots I can't account for. I blame society for such lack of intelligence, schools should teach basic technology like this anyway."
