i saw a handheld violet laser pointer 5mw which was sold today for $300?
from the pics it looked okayish but i wudnt wanna risk $300 on sumthing thats not guaranteed to last a few weeks, let alone a few months.
but in general when proffesional laserists build theyr own handheld violet pointers - is ther any advantages other than the total price?
visibility-wise what r these like?

my gf is buying a violet laser........but for herself! hehe i'll be allowed to play with it though :)
