Got my cylinder lens today thanks everyone for their help. Now Ive got a real burner.

So if I understand the optic effect correctly, this lens turns the output of the IR diode, which is usually a thin line, into a sharp dot... nice. Out of curiosity, is there another lens in the module where the diode sits? Or is that the direct IR beam hitting the cylindrical lens?
