Package from Jordan DTR may be delivered today, can you guess the contents?

  • N465 4W 465nm Laser Diode in 12mm Copper Module W/3.5A Driver G-2 Glass Lens
  • New Sharp 505nm Diode 35mW in 12mm Copper Module W/Boost Driver G-2 Glass Lens
I missed out on the new 473nm, 55mW but hoping Jordan will get more in.

Planning on putting each in the 510 copper units that I bought from Rich.
I know the 465nm 4W will have limited duty cycle but I'm hoping the copper will do it's job.
Wish me luck.

Very nice, Andrew. I hope they both turn out to be everything you are hoping they will.

Very nice. :D

I love getting new toys myself, I just got a PL-520 from DTR and I was surprised at how bright it is and how tight the dot is, these will make great weapon sights for the outdoor range, the daytime visibility is excellent.

Oh, I thought I got a bargain on some 7675 diodes from an ebay seller, but they weren't any good, not even real 7675 diodes, the real NDB7675 has the numbers 876 between the pins, the ndb7875 does not, so yea, it's worth buying from DTR because we always get brand new parts and quality work as advertised.

Awesome. I gotta get me a nice >3W blue sometime.
I think DTR's diodes are the types that are around 508nm. Hopefully your "505nm" diode is low WL.

I still have to build my 505nm diode into something but with mine being case positive I am limited to possible drivers.

Make sure to show us some beam pics when you finish assembling them!:gun:

Yes, I would like to see that N-465's beam in pics.

Here's a pic of the PL-520 from DTR on the left and a Chinese 520 with Osram inside that I turned up the pot on the right.

Alright, your going to give life to those cu 510's you got from Lifetime. Nice! Looking forward to seeing those 510's throw some photons.

That n465 is a great diode. I was very impressed when I built one a while ago. Turned out to be one of my favorite diodes. Enjoy! :)

When I saw this I had to check my diodes I got off eBay as NDB7675. They don't have 876 between the pins either. I'll have to set them up and check with my spectrometer to figure out exactly what they are if all NDB7675s have 876 between the pins. If they turn out to be something else, I'll be really pissed.

Edit:

It seems that some 7675's don't have that mark, but mine was blown and as I crossed threshold it came on dim but never got any brighter or any kind of bright.

Now with what I was told by the seller and these being tin pin pulls I could speculate but I won't, I also won't buy any more at 1/2 the going price and less expecting to get a new quality diode, these are even advertised as pulled from new arrays which I was unaware 7675's came that way, but that does not mean that they don't as far as I know.

Well, in that case, it looks like I got two NDB7875s. That means I have three of them now. I only wanted one. Damn!

I was thinking about getting a ndg700 now that I have a 1.8a driver laying around.

Man, you really had me going. I pulled out both of my NDB7675s and my spectrometer and set it up to run unpressed, but as soon as I saw the color, I knew it was a 462nm. Just to be sure, I went ahead and checked it with my spectrometer and it was dead on 460nm at minimum current. Both are working just fine too.

I'm glad to hear yours are good, mine was stone LED right out of the mailbox and I thought they were supposed to have (876) also I thought they ran closer to 465nm ?

Oh well, if yours are 460 then cool.

Were the 7675's used in equipment? Should they be clean or tin pins?

I have never bought or attempted to buy one before, 7675 that is, I have many 7875's I love 7875's, but being that mine was led I assumed it came out of used equipment, I mean they do have static protection and I know how press/solder diodes, also what I was told, but hey, if you're good then cool.

How visible is the difference?

EDIT : Ok I see you said minimum current.

Mine are unused and not soldered on with clean, uncut pins. I can't remember off hand where I got them, but they did come from a trusted source I had purchased many diodes from in the past Like Teschhood or Newgazer. Since I still haven't pressed them into modules yet, I kept the current at a minimum to just get it to lase and take a spectrum reading. These are rated to be 462nm at normal current, so 460nm is close enough when the bare diode was not even getting warm to the touch.

I suppose it's buyer beware, but maybe I just got a bad 7675 that's advertised as pulled from an array with tin pins as unusual as that sounds for this diode.

But I digress, I look forward to seeing some N-465 pics.

Once it's confirmed they are not NDB7675 redcowboy, would be very helpfull posting it in the review section to help out other members

I also found and I'm sure other members also, the auction for these Diodes on eBay, awesome price "iirc ~$25-$35".....but only if they ARE NDB7675's :D
