This company is totally an nonsense, and is not the first time someone named here.

Wavelength: 980nm "pink", yes very pink,

description of the goggles is amazing, so much information they provide

Laser Pointer Accessories

Ok, Joke I mean the description of their lasers, not whether it is possible or not make a pink laser ;)

One example, a laser supposedly pink, put 980nm, among other things.

Read my post # 9
So they got the wavelength wrong and I read the goggles description and they seem to take safety seriously while using a bit of comedy. Funny :D
They appear legit to me. About Us - Vectra Lasers
Three business addresses: China, Philippines and Florida US.
If you read around on their site, they say they are simply a couple of laser enthusiasts.

A person that doesn't know about IR orders it, he turns it on, nothing but a dim red dot... "Oh look my laser is defective, so I'll look right into it... Eye stings and aches... What was that and what is this blurry thing in front of me?! *moment of truth after googling 980nm* SUE SUE PUBLICITY NEWS" Bang. One more moron with a toasted eye. One more state that banned lasers...

Well, looking at that picture, it IS what 980 nm looks like on most digital camera's, so the beamshot could even be legit - downside is it won't look very pretty in person :D

That was exactly my thought, as well.... :(

Strange how they state that their "pink" laser is 100% IR free, yet 980nm is obviously totally IR. I just think they have the wavelength wrong.
I haven't been able to get through on the chat to ask them if it's visible without a camera. But, yeah that would suck if it was only visible on camera.

Well, the regular "IR" in green lasers is 808nm and 1064nm, so maybe some IR filters actually don't filter 980nm... But still, the Chinese can make a lot of strange things happen.

I was seriously considering buying this, but now that the WL Krypton is available, it's a toss up for me.
If I got this and it was IR, I would be so fuckin angry. Maybe not worth the chance without verifying that it is actually pink...
Naw, forget it. But my next project is gonna be a magenta laser for sure.

"crystal arrays and diodes" wonder if they ARE combining diodes...

Also wonder why there are only reviews for the 800mW version. Apparently 500mW, 1W, and 1.5W are crap.

Okay. This guy at Squidoo has one and says it's truly pink:

eta: FAIL. That site is user-generated, and anyone can post a fake review. That review was written by Vectralasers themselves.
