I just got every thing in the mail and it looks great. I cant wait to get some drivers and power this bad boy up. I've always wanted to learn the "joys" of alignment. When I save up a little more $$ for my laser budget I'll be getting some nice 808nm glasses, and then the fun can begin :D. I think if I get every thing working and aligned I am going to put it all in the large project box I saw at RS. That should fit the stuff along with some heatsinks and a fan or two. I am going to go for a "portable labby" kind of thing. Here are some pics
here is the whole set with some 473

That looks like a CNI unit similar to what I have. The most difficult part of the alignment has already been
done for you inside the crystal set. You are going to need some kind of hermetic enclosure for all that.
The LBO crystal inside there is absorbing atmospheric moisture as we speak. Check out my avatar if you
want to see what a wet LBO looks like. My replacement LBO is stored inside a plastic bag that is inside
another container that is full of dry chloride. No chance I'm letting it happen again.

Can I use activated carbon I think I have some of that lying around if not than what is this dry chloride? calcium? sodium lol? cesium?

Hahhah, the right kind of carbon will work, but it's a one-shot, throwaway. To make the chloride, put some
calcium chloride driveway salt (peladow) in a stainless steel pan. It will get pretty hot and takes an
amazingly long time due to its extreme affinity for moisture. Try not to get it on your skin.
