So it's been such a long time since I took any pictures. I got a new phone with an okay camera so decided to take some new pics and a video and share them with you guys.

This is Dragon Lasers' Spartan BP 40mW being shone through their Transmission Beam Fan Diffraction Grating. Been a while since I'd uploaded a video so thought I'd show off this gorgous laser. To enhance the beam, I burned a few scented sticks to fill the room with smoke.

Sorry for the large images, the resolution sucks... Click these links or save to your PC for best viewing...

Very nice !! I have a 5mW that puts out over 12mW's & I just LOVE the color. Too bad you can't buy a diode that color for about $10.00. LOL................rob

Thanks. Indeed, diodes would be too much! The colour looks more rich and even more vibrant in real life. I was going to take some shots with the beam expander but I hate removing the lens cap and fiddling around with it (Actually, come to think of it, I wonder how that would look through the diffraction grating...). I might do it in the next couple of days... I still need to build my self a time machine as well... Still, I'm happy how these shots turned out, my old camera sucked pretty bad.

Thats sick, nice pics... but spartan arent cheap.
Very true. Looking back now I kind of wish I bought a module, as I could, potentially, have had 100mW with analog modulation for not much more than I payed. That also happens to be one of the most expensive parts of an RGB scanner which in the end, would be my ultimate goal. But meh, what can you do? I love the laser to bits, even though a poor decision has slowed me down a bit.

Great to know interest in the laser would be pretty high, I'll keep that in mind!

(Could a mod please move this to the multimedia forum? It might as well be in there.)

Here's a few pics of the Spartan with the beam expander, sorry but the power was pretty low and eventually the batteries ran out, so I didn't really get to do what I wanted. But maybe next time... All I need to do now is find the charger... :/

Again, resolution sucks, so for best viewing click the links...

It's crazy! Although I don't like it to be honest, not with the Spartan BP anyway. For one you have to remove the lens cover which I hate doing, also, it hugely amplifies the transverse mode which makes it ugly to look at in some situations. For the Spartan GW or CNI pens, it would be great, but the Spartan BP, not so much...
