Which is on Saturday , which happens to be on my 21st birthday too . I've waited years for this. It was sent out on the 24th and I got it on the 28th. It's so hard to resit opening it as it's sitting 20 some feet away. I think I'm gonna do an unboxing video.

Which way does the 18650 go in. does the positive end go in the top?

I really hope I got a good unit like others have recently.

Congratulations on getting a 589 laser! Never seen one in person but from the beamshots of fellow LPF members it looks simply beautiful! Goodluck on your wait :D

Just verified with mine that what GR said is correct (+ to tail single 18650). unless they changed it there should be a small etched in pic of this right where the tail cap screws in. It is wise to mark the inside of your units as the more you own the more likely you are to mess up and blow a board and/or diode). If you can fit it also put # of cells. You can also keep a ledger with all your units details. I really wish I had kept better records of what I have concerning diode type as I'm not sure what exact diode is in some of them:(

There was no etching on mine unfortunately. I made a label with a label maker for it. Not sure if all newer ones are no longer etched, but I guess we will find out.

Less than 24 hours guys and we will know.

I remember when i got my first real 532 in ocean city NJ back almost 5 years ago. I couldn't resit shining it and being messmerized by the green beam. I was like whats 532nm and I was like damn 30mw ( it's actually more than that on 1.5 volt bats and yes it still works even after being dropped and sat on for 10 mins with batteries in it.I realized whats this warm thing under my butt.)

then when i got home 2 days later I read up on lasers and I was blown away by the 589nm. I wanted one right then and there. The wait ends in less than 20 hours guys.

" I am so excited I just can't hide it..."

If you have any low pressure sodium street lights near your house ( usually long and thin lanterns with pure monochromatic yellow light) then that is the exact colour of a 589 mm laser. :)

This post kills me. I was a part of the 589 GB that will may or may not happen. Seeing the price for the power makes me really want one even more. I will wait for your video with more patients than you probably have right now. I sort of remember my 21st birthday. My sister took me out in downtown Portland. Good times. Have fun and good luck. Have a drink on me and lasers! PEW PEW

I have one but it was white at first then it turned yellow one day. The rest down the street are yellow but they don't look fully yellow. Does age make white ones do this?

Also I just cant friggen wait to see it... The temptation to cut the box open with a 445.

Man how am I gonna sleep tonight.

Sounds exciting! I just ordered one too. It'll probably arrive in a day or 10, just like my last order. About the battery, on the end near the tail cap is a small battery that indicates which side goes in first.

How you're gonna sleep tonight? Well, you aren't :D

Yes mine has that.

This is perhaps the neatest WL I've ever seen. indoors in a bright room it looks like a diffirent shade of yellow while at dark outside it looks sodium yellow. At peak power it seems to light up my room almost as bright as my 638 200mw red. Do I need to use a cell with a raised positive top. I have plenty of 18650s but only a few year old ultrafire which it eats through fast with the a rasied tip. But even then through a lens i was able to burn aswell as my 50mw red does through that lens on black tape.

So bottom line despite the horror stories About DL they sent me a good 589mn.

It's dark now maybe i'll take some pics in my room.
