@ Arctic Dude, no problem, glad you liked it! :)

@ Bob, feel free to use that idea, just remember that whatever you use, you will want to coat the mating surface with some kind of release agent so your molded piece doesn't stick.

Received and understood. :thanks:

Your using a cell phone camera for those pictures? I so impressed! If you don't mind me asking what cell phone takes such gorgeous pictures?

Hey Bow, that is one sweet looking build there!
And thanks for keeping the LPF, in mind by planning ahead to photo-document the process. The mold making step is the first that I've seen (in my brief time) displayed here?
With the impact of the photobucket debacle continuing to erase archived content, it was also nice to see that you rescued these build pics because they are so worth it!

Not only was the build well done, but the presentation of this thread is benchmark worthy as well. Setting the bar kinda high. :D Represent!

Thanks CE5!
I try and take photos of the process as I build something, since most all of my own builds are a "one of a kind" type thing, and you know what they say about your memory ....it's the first thing to go!
Making that mold is a first for me as far as laser work goes, although I've done similar work elsewhere on occasion.

I agree, the Photobucket fiasco destroyed a lot of work by many of us. I had over 1300 pics on their site, and probably 1200 were laser related, and posted here on LPF.
I'm trying to slowly replace the photos in my builds and reviews first, starting with the latest and working backwards; I doubt that I'll ever get to them all though.

I like that nice little Bob Seger reference!

@Bob, I agree, it takes a pretty good picture; I've been thinking of upraging to the newer S8, but my phone is like new, and I'm not sure if there will be any photo quality increase.
With my luck, it'll take worse photos!

Very nice, comprehensive build thread and unique host laser, Jeff. I'm glad you finally got it working after planning for such a long time. With high power blues, it's difficult to get a photo that isn't over exposed. Nice and clean technique. I loved every bit of it. Thank you for sharing it. :yh:

Thanks Paul, I appreciate your comments and kind words. :)
I know what you mean about the high powers, they definitely tend to overpower everything else in the shot.

 that is so nice!! I want one!!

Thanks Richie, I've been wanting to build something in that host for a very long time, finally finished it up! :yh:

@ deadshadow, yes, the gball lens is removed, I ordered it that way from DTR. I hope it lasts for a while, it won't be getting a lot of use, I'll keep my fingers crossed!

@ lasersbee, thanks Jerry, I think it turned out pretty nice also. The mold idea worked better than I would have thought, it's a good idea to keep in mind the next time I need to reproduce a particular form.

I wouldn't mind seeing some outdoor beam shots with this very aesthetically pleasing build of yours, Jeff. That would be icing on the cake.
