Short 462 build

Hey guys, here's a 462 in the works. I plan on putting this bad boy in a wicked lasers replica host my brother milled up for me. Hope yall enjoy.

Hi,
Looking good already buddy awesome beam shots in house.Can't wait to see the finished product.I see in one of the pics the diode isn't counter sunk all the way in the copper module like it's supposed to be. Didn't know if you noticed that just in case you overlooked it. Nice clean work area to. That reminds me i need to get a new ESD Mat mine is really beat up from all the builds i did. Hate to get rid of it , it's like an old friend so to speak LOL !!
Good luck Pal on the build i'm sure it will be great when done.

Nice wavelength.
I recently ordered some diodes and chose 7875's over m-462's for max power, but looking at that pretty beam....I may have to do a 2nd build.

Well....If one selects the NUBM07E as your diode....you will get a great boost....not only in raw optical power....but also in perceived luminosity !!

The NUBM07E kicks out about 4.65W !! at the 465-470 nm line.
So....when comparing the human eye capacity regarding perceived luminosity...the 445nm line is 1/2 as bright as the 465nm line....

SO...one gets a much brighter beam and dot with the NUBM07E diode !!
Yes...more expensive....but....IMNSHO....well worth it !! :beer::beer:

Oh I know about the 07E, I got one the day they hit DTR's page.
I'm putting 3 diodes in a single build triangle pattern and I decided against the 07E only because of heat load.
Is it bad etiquette if I post a pic?
It is a gorgeous wavelength, but it makes twice the waste heat as well as twice the power, and twice the divergence.

Well....The divergence on the NUBM07E has been tamed by giving this diode some glasses....see http://laserpointerforums.com/f42/sky-blue-ramjet-build-94646.html

Yes I enjoyed your sky blue ram jet project, several of us are waiting for some 6x cylindrical pairs, been waiting going on 4 weeks now, lol.
I don't suppose you know where I could get 1 pair to hold me over until the group buy comes through?
p.s. I'm made this for my triple beam foggy night build, I really want to do one with 5 or 7 diodes, 5 would be easier to focus while lasing.
I know I could knife edge, but I like how multiple beams look running out to a point in the clouds.
