sooo, Im new to this laser thing... I like tech, and I like lights and such.. anywho.. I wanted the S3.. Now, I hear that the color of the beam, can make you BLUE blind?

Being a avid gamer, I find this to be a MAAAAAJOR scare.. Cause, well, I enjoy colors, and art, and all those things eyes help us with..

Someone explain what makes the blue-blind happen? Cause if its just from looking at the beam as its... beaming? then I think imma go buy something else.. Someone help me out here.. Thanks a lot guys.

Looking at any laser over 5mW will make you PERMANATELY BLIND FROM ALL COLOURS...

Your much better off getting a laser from a member here which has more power then the S3, is much better quality AND has much faster shipping times... Some people have waited over 6 months for their s3 to arrive...

If you dont want to go blind and still enjoy lasers, buy some safety goggles :D

What your talking about is 'blue light hazard' though to be honest it's not as an extreme threat as some people make it out to be. Just don't act stupidly with high power blues and it won't be an issue. Meaning if your indoors, use googles. After all, the display crowd have been using blues in powers (I believe 457nm DPSS is available up to 10W, plus there are multi-watt argons, etc) we wont have for an affordable price probably ever, for a long time without issues.

What lazerz was talking about is purely blinding yourself by catching a beam in the eye.. Color doesn't matter much for that..

Just be safe, don't act stupidly, and think... and the 'blue light hazard' isn't anything to be afraid of.
