I was looking around on Aliexpress and found a couple of interesting items. One of them was a Red+Green yellow handheld (a rarity nowadays!)
They are available in 100mW, 200mW, and 300mW.
RG laser pointers - Shop Cheap RG laser pointers from China RG laser pointers Suppliers at JiangXi Simple & Honest Technology Co.,Ltd on Aliexpress.com
(It seems that you can reduce the price by up to $105.00 by opting out of their included items.)
The laser seems to have several interesting features (red/yellow/green modes, focusing, diffraction gratings, etc.)
Do you think this is a good deal? Does anyone here own one?

I'd be interested for a reasonable price.
How much are they asking with just the assembled Host and Diodes. No batteries, No Caps, no Case, No glasses?

Very cool products, I'm sure some people would be interested. The price isn't the best, but I guess it's hard to tell the actual power output from these lasers since they're chinese, and as we all know when buying from aliexpress or any other chinese sourced sites like that power is very rarely to be accurate. Also that much money could probably be spent on one of the chinese RGB lab lasers you can find on eBay, I would personally go for one of those since they've got huge colour capability and are generally very fun to play around with. (Unless you just want a yellow handheld.)

It seems that it's $107.78 with none of the extra stuff (100mW version). At least from my calculations.

Hi Sta,
Have ya thought about building one?

I have! However, I would prefer it in a handheld, which is really quite difficult to build with an RG setup.

I wish we could do a group buy and get the price down to about 70.00. I've seen them for sale in the past for 80.00. 110.00 plus 30.00 for shipping is not too far from the price it would cost me to build exactly what I want for about 200.00

Couldn't you take that unit your looking at and use the optics etc for a handheld?

Well, my calculation included shipping, but a GB might be a good idea.

These have come up before, here's the latest thread from last month, this was also from Aliexpress.
IIRC, the quality of these combination lasers depends on how accurately the red and green diodes are aligned.
They seem to align well at a specific distance, and diverge into individual wavelengths at any other distance.
CNI used to offer this type of unit at one time also. (Link)

It would be interesting to see how these stack up quality wise, good luck on your possible G.B.!

Has anyone here dealt with these sellers before? I would like to be able to ask to remove the bundled items before I pay, so that we don't have problems with trying to get money back.

That's pretty cool with 2-color combos. I'd be interested in a GB or might get one anyway. I am curious how well the alignment comes new and holds up under nominal handling conditions. E.g., does just a small bump setting it down matter a lot?

The RB and RG pictures look nice.

Hey, I spoke to DongXi Peng, the seller, who was very courteous and responded within minutes to my questions. It seems that a GB may be quite reasonable!
Here is a screenshot of our discussion (no, Starmute is not my real name)
