For the past few months I've been wanting a poor mans yellow something awful. I've seen jayrobs thread and was wondering if anyone else has attempted a hand held RG yellow.

You can get an RG handheld from CNI for under 300$ I think. They're also not hard to make with a red diode, green module and sled optics, give it a go

What is your definition of "poor man's" yellow? If it is simply combining RG, you could try to do it yourself (there was a tutorial around here somewhere) or find someone to attempt a build for you, but I'm not sure how "cheap" it would be in the end. Does it have to be portable/handheld? That might broaden your options... if you didn't care if it was portable that is...

Dang I kinda had my eye on that RG but other things came up and I lpst track. Someone got a good deal and in the end I won as well since im buying a killer flashlight from IE

Yes it's combining RG. I don't want the cni one as I've seen it done for way cheaper. I would like it hand held as I don't really like a big module.

It's a decently simple DIY... just use a dichro and one red and one green laser. A bit of aligning and you've got it

I've built a poor man's yellow, it wasn't handheld though. It was also extremely ugly.

Also styro ive seen yours before and that is one ghetto worthy laser. I am thinking of getting a custom host made on my friends lathe. Big enough for two diodes and dichros. The diodes would be direct pressed into the host. Is there a lens for RG builds? Also stupid question but has there ever been a white RGB build but handheld?

Found it! Not handheld though its in a box and boxes are cool but I was looking pocketable. I wish jayrob would input his knowledge. I wonder if he would make me one of the metal caps he used when he made his. Also I wonder if the fusion kits are still available. Who would I contact for a quote, should I decide I don't want to build my own?
