Default Re: Pink Laser 500mW

This has been a bizarrely interesting discussion to read.

The conclusion seems to be: While it may be theoretically possible to create some device that emits a beamlike stream of particles or waves that destructively interfere with any light that they encounter, we currently have no such technology or knowledge of such a particle or wave.

I propose a different angle of attack, and I attach a picture of my prototype. The host was my rayfoss 405nm 20mw. You can see that the divergence is terrible, however, this is just a prototype. The beam is very clearly visible even in bright lighting, due to the high percentage of incident light that is absorbed. A small amount of light seems to be reflected, but this just serves to increase its visibility. Overall, I am satisfied with this mod and my new black laser.

Now we are talking about black lasers and light...would "black light" exist?
I dont mean a laser but black is taking visibility of light away yes?(if i think of a black shining flashlight)
Would be pretty cool to have a device that creates darkness even if the lights are on.

Or is that impossible?

Default Re: Pink Laser 500mW

I'll bite - since our eyes are most responsive to the green lasers we all love, lets make an antigreen laser. It'll be the "brightest" black laser to our eyes :P Then take a green laser of equal power, put it through a depolarising beam anticombisplitter and you have your black laser. You can also use an antidichro for this purpose, but you may loose some antigreen through the antioptic.

I'm still curious as to what goggles we would need for such an animal.

As for pink, I get some nice hot pinks out of my projector by turning on the red (sigh, it popped last weekend) and blue lasers. By varying the intensity of the red and blue on the computer, I can produce many shades of pink. I'll try it when I fix the projector and video it.

Sorry borg

I was referring to the shades on the computer. Once I replace the drivers with flexmods, i'll be able to do the real live test of different shades. First I need to replace that red.

About to order 3 flexmods
