Re: New DHOM 473nm Labby

Alright, so I found a plug, wired it up, the power LED and the laser LED light up, I turn the power knob but the laser doesn't emit light. There are two other wires coming out of the power supply labeled MOD+ and MOD- (for TTL modulation I believe...) What do I wire these up to?

Connect them with 5V.

5V power? AC or DC? (very new to lab lasers, and their instruction manual doesn't say anything about those wires...)

Exactly what should I do to run 5V in it? Do I need a flex drive?

NO, man.

Just connect it with 5V battery/PSU something to give you 5V.

Oh okay, then that'll be easier than I expected. Time to search for a 5V!

Edit: Don't have any, I'll head down to RadioShack after lunch

Yeah, I have one ordered already. It's pretty amazing, cant wait for the nighttime!
Once I get those pictures I plan on making a review of this in the reviews section.
Anything anyone wants to see on video?

Next on my list to buy is a 589, probably from DL

Yes please make a HD Video! :p

You can buy a yellow laser from LaserGlow.com or From CNI for A lot cheaper.

15 megapixels good enough? Heh my buddy has a good camera, I'll get him over with that. (hopefully his can handle >150mW of laser light, my cameras have issues with anything over 5)

Youtube won't let me embed...?
Well click this instead.

HD coming some other day, my buddy couldn't make it.

^ NICE laser!

You can buy an 808nm IR filter to drop the IR output... Though there should have been an IR filter in there? How much IR are you getting? Do you have a LPM?

Right now I do not have an LPM, something I should look into, any out there for a decent price?

^ A good IR filter should not cost you any more than 20$. I checked eBay for you last night but could not find an appropriate one for 808nm. Perhaps someone else can chime in with a link to some filters :)
