You are measuring the current output of the driver in Ampere . The testload is simulating the voltage drop of a laser diode. By measuring the voltage over that 1Ohm resistor you can calculate the current by the Ohm Law.

You need some homework to do. It is not buying all the components and connecting together you have a working laser. You need to know some background info about drivers, batteries and diodes. And how to route the electrical connections.

what happend to building a visible light laser first? As i find your lack of knowledge disturbing.

Back to the mini project.

Does anyone know how to pull the diod out of this?
I think i monna re use the housing for it...
