As promised here are some quick photos of my new Rigel from LaserGlow I just got about 1 hour ago :D Before I start I do need to note a few things, the rest are simply going to be pictures :)

(Please Read Below v)
Thank you for a few things LaserGlow:

Power: I was amazed from the power ratings I got from this unit. I purchased the Rigel-2 model with an output power of 0.6mW-1.9mW, but upon looking at the paperwork from LG they noted an average of 2.3mW, so on par with the $200 more expensive Rigel-5!! When run on my LPM I got 3mW, so I payed $200 less and got a Rigel within the power of the more expensive model. Excellent ! You will see this within the photos below.

Carrying Case: Thank you, thank you, thank you for finally re-introducing the "old-style" cases with the laser model on it and not those grey cases with your logo on it. Gosh I hated those and find the black & gray ones with the model attached on it so much better to look at & show off! :D

Stability: I can't really comment on the stability yet but so far this unit has performed much better then other units I've gotten. I put some fresh AAA's batteries in(this takes 2xAAA's) and did not experience any dimming or lack of output at all. Excellent once again for 594 in a pen! My last unit had trouble being stable and would fluctuate in brightness :pop:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, it really does look like LaserGlow has improved their 594 pens, and am very, very happy with this 594 pen. This is the center piece of my collection! Even more so then my 473 even though that color is pretty nice to look at too! Like I said above, all the things listed above(apart from the stability note) will be shown below. We've had a lot of talk of 505nm & 480nm but I think it's time we bring back the other part of the 500nm spectrum, no? Thanks for looking & drool over yellows again! :thanks::thanks:

Congrats on your new addition. That piece should stay in your collection for a long time.
I've been looking to get 594nm for a while now but the new WLs won't let me.

Thanks! Yeah, tons of new stuff coming out, pretty exciting in the laser world for us! I see you may have a 577nm in your collection soon? That should be pretty unique :yh:

I hope so, if it goes well and the deal is sealed then I should have it by the start of next month. I can't reveal more at this point :shhh:.

Nice, stability is the really hard thing to come by with these pens. Mine is literally all over the place and the output varies wildly between dimming out, mode hoping and occasionally surging up to 7+mw. After the host gets warm to the touch it finally starts operating in relative stability. Seems kinda odd that it only works properly after exceeding the duty cycle, but it's never died on me from doing so.

Yes, definitely. After running for about 30 sec. I can already feel the host getting quite warm to the touch, that's my signal to stop and let it relax before using it again. 594 is definitely a beautiful color though :)

Edit: Thanks Paul :)

 Too funny Paul.
But I think Alex loves this one and will keep it.

Got some sweet beam shots there, Alex.

Very very nice Rigel pen, Alex, you've got some good looking beam shots there!
That's a beauty of a case it comes with, it's just like the case mine came in; I had thought that they quit using that style case a while back.

Agreed with BTG on the box it comes in, nothing's better than a nice solid hard case! Good to hear about the good experience from LaserGlow. Maybe this time around you'll set a record for ownership time before selling? :p

Bowtie, thank you for your kind words. I thought so too and they did for a couple years it seemed, even after talking to them they mentioned IIRC that they no longer stocked those cases so I was thrilled to see it again! Yeah, I have read your Rigel review several times, although the pictures on yours are gone now due to photobucket

Edit: EP Im going for longer then 1 month this time lol

Hey Alex, maybe they're just giving them out with their "better" units, either way you got ahold of one of the good ones!
I'm slowly adding my pics back into my threads, I should have my Rigel 594nm pics replaced within a week or so. :)

What a PITA. Aren't you glad you used Photobucket for so long now? What am I saying? I used them too. Hope Imgur last at least until I die from old age. :yh:
