Hi All

I am just starting my project so this is a test bed. The green laser is a pointer that I cut open with a small pipe cutter I still need to build the driver for. The red laser is a 8x-12x DVD diode I pulled from burner in a aixiz module. The violet laser is out of a pointer also. The drivers are lm317's. I got the dichros from Flaminpyro (thanks Jeff).

Scott

Ghetto indeed but its very cool !
Why dont you buy boost drivers to save batteries
and space ?

Jim

So you spent almost nothing and have a (nearly) white laser that can effectively be condensed and battery operated.
I think you should be rather proud of your achievement.
Well done !
You will be one of the few of a special calibre of laser builders soon at this rate.
Keep up the good work and be safe.
Looking forward to more pictures as you refine your build.

This is very cool it's good to see experimentation alive and well :gj:

Like the man said it may be ghetto but it looks just like 1000 bucks
and you can for sure be proud you made it :D

Plus 2 my friend and keep em coming ;)

Thanks guys. I will keep you posted on updates.

The video code is between the = and & in the video URL.

watch?v=BGWceZqn3e8&

IE BGWceZqn3e8

Now highlight it, and click the Youtube button at the top right of the message box.

Ok. Thanks again I think it sunk in now. So what do you think so far. It still needs lots of tweaking. For starters some teflon tape to keep the lens from moving around in the holders. Then need to square up all the mounts and dicros.
