Max output for a 635 nm laser, while affordable?

Exactly. They are both singlemode, similar power, and the wavelength is only a 2nm difference. I would pick the cheaper one too.

Ahem,

Multiple traverse mode

Also, look at the divergences:
HL6388MG (multimode): parallel 11° perpendicular 40°
ML520G55 (singlemode): parallel 9° perpendicular 19°
HL63133DG (singlemode): parallel 9° perpendicular 17°

Yes, i know about the 6388 one it's multimode, i meant in the datasheet of the 63133 it say "TE mode oscillation" .....

EDIT: no, perhaps you're right, i've checked and seen that they indicate in that "fancy" way all their "single mode" emitters, instead to indicate the TEM standard .....

Not sure - too much hassle to create and account just for the purpose of estimating shipping :(

1W pulsed ;)

CNI has a 750mW true 635nm diode. They are able to put it into a host (Herc). Price is $1200

I know!
Its divergence is 7.5 x 35.
For reference if the 1W 445 (9mm) on Nichia's site is essentially the same specs as the 445s we use, then their divergence is 12 x 40.

So this read is a bit worse (I think?). I'm not a science / optics person. But I gather that a common problem with multi-mode reds is the "broken line". I still think that if these were intended for a projector, they'd need that not to be a problem.

I can get 5 HL63133DG's right now for $190 each at my door. But I would need 11 days to have my money ready. And I'm waiting on somebody else to see about ten, and hopefull around $175 each for ten shipped to my door.

That is of course if Mario just doesn't buy a set.

I got some horrible life news today...

My HL63133DG is on vehicle for delivery today, and I have a 25 page paper due tomorrow, plus a 65% final on Thursday.

This is horrible life news.

Man I feel sorry for you. When you get the time to set it up, will you post some photos and info?
