That's gonna be a problem
You need one to check the voltage on the diode.

Well, I heard the fan making a strange sound. Could it have been hitting against one of the wires and damaging the wires?

Default Re: How to power this RGB laser?

Did you set the voltage between the two modulation leads to ~5V? The green might not be turning on if you don't do that. Normally those leads will float enough to turn on the laser, but I found that on some greens they still don't turn on until you actually put some voltage on the modulator leads.

It might also be that the blue laser's power input caused the green's modulation input to change slightly, possibly turning it on. What you should really do is make sure all your modulation inputs have +5V on them and then power up.

I put 4.2v into the blue socket of the green laser's circuit board, and 11.1v into the red socket. No output.

hah,you need to be kidding me... One does not guess the battery voltage without a voltage meter. You can make a lot of mistakes by guessing the battery voltage. You really need a volt meter. There is no other way to fix this. A dmm is a must. When you get one,we can continue.

Default Re: How to power this RGB laser?

Well unless he has one of those protected cells that fell into protected mode at like 2V it should be enough even at the discharged 3.6V to power the green. Even 2.6V should be enough for TTL which is way below the discharged voltage of those LiPo batteries..

STA: Now try connecting the two leads on the blue. Maybe it's active low? You could also try flipping the connection with the battery. Maybe the leads are backwards?

Finally, if it still doesn't light up, face the output towards some white paper and use a digital camera to see if you can see any light coming out via what it shows in the viewfinder. That light would be the infrared, which digital cameras can see. Don't use your eyes directly.

If you were to look at the laser being talked about, you would see what he means. he doesnt mean connecting the leads right to the diode, anyone who has been here a day (or has any common sense) isnt that stupid.
