This is my ideal diode laser color at the moment, so I really want one. Honestly, it's the current holy grail of what's available in direct diode lasers that can be used in portable/handhelds.
Now, if only they could become available within the next few weeks.

We all want them enough that I'm surprised that someone hasn't just gone ahead and tried to buy one. Then again it's one of those I'll believe it when I see it kind of things and the reason why I'm not buying one yet too.
On another note just built an 08E yesterday but haven't finished with my custom focus knob yet for it or actually even tested output or taken comparison pics yet to see how different it is to a 450 and 462nm. Hopefully I'll get it done today and post. It's just in a simple black C mag so no special host.

Old sears truck aquamarine or sky blue? These will be interesting to see, hopefully someone with a high end camera can get some good shots that show the color.

I agree. It's not like 488nm is a rare wavelength since argon lasers have been fairly common for a while. Lots of pictures have been taken, and they don't look quite right compared to the real thing.

I've been out of the game too long. I just won a MG direct doubled 488nm head for $110 and still have yet to get a PSU for it, but by the looks of this thread that looks to be obsolete (for us WL collectors at least ) Now I'm broke as hell, but dammit I'll find a way to scrounge up some cash if it means I can buy a beautiful 488!!!!!
Yeah I'm aware my PM box is full...to those awaiting response (and to the couple I owe lasers to...) I will take care of that soon. Sorry...

Unlike red, green, blue, or even yellow lasers, cyan really goes far beyond what a monitor can accurately produce.
