488nm diodes at this price is a fantasy anyway, might as well talk about something real.

Pasketti is an old laser projector software. It's creater, Dr. Lava, also the creator of the flexdrive, had a large falling out with some forum members. Might have been some leaking or conspiring involved; the full details haven't really been released in several years, and with it being censored, it's hard to search for.

That's exactly what they said when blue diodes were first talked about. Before 445nm diodes, 1W of 473nm would've cost four digits. When people said there were 1W blue DIODES available for two digits...people were skeptical.

Everything new in this hobby is something wild and unexpected. I've learned to accept that anything is possible.

Also because of the physics behind it...anything really is possible.

there are orange diodes available for 3 digits, now try to believe that.:D

150mW 622nm diodes exist, but they operate at 5°C.

You can cryo-cool a 637nm diode and get 607nm out of it, once you get into the -150° range.

there's a 50mW version that run at 25*C .

Not from RPMC, I was just on their website. Though I am interested in which diode you speak of.

Not RPMC - he told me it was a 9mm diode. What manufacturer I don't know.

it's a 622nm in a popular package that all hobbyist like.

It's a secret . ;) (i can be bribe so make me an offer i can't refuse).

Also i know sources that offer 490nm-503nm. however the cost ranges from $1200 - $3000 for the output from 25mW-300mW.(t0pt!ca,last3k).

*they shall not be name for the sake of all laser hobbyist.(if i do name them
it will in PM only).

Nothing good. My paypal agent did confirm they have the 21 day hold on withdraws on their account either due to being too new or having a poor track record. They don't understand that hold is for them withdrawing the money but it has cleared into paypal. The hold is imposed so they can ship and the item can be delivered before the money is released and they can also if say it is delivered the next day 26 days till the hold is released can submit tracking showing it was delivered and the money will release 3 days after superseding the 21 days. They don't seem to want to work it this way and asked my paypal business rep to reach out them to clarify how they are supposed do it but not sure if that is something she can do as it is a different country and she may only be assigned to work in a specific area.

Here is what she wrote.

Hello Jordan,

Just like on eBay, sellers subject to holds either because they are still new or they have fallen below expected performance standards. The seller is still expected to ship the item out and if being held under that policy can get the funds released within 3 days of item delivery or 21 days depending on which comes first. I wonder if the merchant is just not clear enough on the policy. You can advise the merchant to contact PayPal customer service clarification.

Have a good one!

Thanks,

Have you tried calling them on the phone Jordan? They have a number listed on their website. It might help you get to the bottom of this.

Sta is on top of that 488nm diode; I bet he has had wet and blue dreams every night about it.... :lasergun:

Demanding updates isn't going to expedite this process any quicker.
Has anyone bit the bullet and ordered a single diode albeit risky?

It's also possible these diodes were smuggled out. I've been to seedy electronic markets in Bangkok & Tokyo.. I'd believe it...
The seller might not genuinely know the PayPal/eBay protection rules.
Idk, speculation
