Help with specs of Infrared laser diode

I have a couple of Infrared laser diodes from daedallasers .com /lasers/laser-diodes/high-power-ir-laser-diode.html

I have installed a rckstr driver in a Axis module. I have tried using 6V ( 2 X CR2 ) and 3.7V ( CR123A ) but the spot is very faint. I tried adjusting the pot but didn't want to go all the way high.

Does anyone have idea of the specs of this diode ?

What is the recommended voltage to run IR diodes like this or the IR diodes in the PHR-803 sled ?

Can I run a 7.2V Li-Ion battery with rckstr driver without damaging anything as I read that 2V above the laser diode operating voltage is the best.

I am looking to build a weapon sight for Night vision scope and want a decent power laser with the beam visible and not just the spot using NV. Just to be clear I am looking for < 50mW performance.

Thanks in advance for the help.

The current setup I am trying is install it in a Axiz module with rckstr driver ( full range ).

I also dont get a clean spot when I try focusing the dot. Its more like the image of the planet saturn with a flat ring in the middle that extends more than the spot.

Any ideas / help is appreciated in how to fix this and also get a good beam / dot.

Actually I don't see any dot/beam in the visible range.

I am trying to see the beam using Night Vision equipment and all I see is the faint dot through the NV scope.

The ad says "These laser diodes are salvaged form new and unused CD-Burner Drives." You would want to know what write speed the drives were rated as (eg: 4x, 10x, etc). You could ask the seller...

Thanks for the info.. I will not be able to use the above mentioned laser as it will be too powerful to use as a weapon sight.

I am thinking of buying the following laser modules from Aixiz.com:
780nm 25mW 3.2VDC : ww w.aixiz.com/shop/product_info.php?products_id=121
980nm 35mW 3.2VDC : ww w.aixiz.com/shop/product_info.php?products_id=99

One question is what voltage should I use for these lasers... as they mention 3.2V. Can I use a CR123A - 3.6V battery with it or should I stick to 3.0V battery which fully charged goes up to 3.2V. Or is it 2 V above the module voltage like rkcstr drivers ??

I am really confused..

Any help on this is really appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
