I currently have a 4-5 dollar 5mW laser that I got from amazon, It's green and you can see the light beam at night and you can see it pretty far away

But I really want something that can pop balloons(not just black balloons) and that can light match heads fairly quick, I came here wondering what the CHEAPEST thing is to do to get one, buy, or make one, I would prefer a blue one, Also how many mW is a fair amount for what i'm suggesting?

Thanks.

I'll sell you a 3W 445nm laser for $350 :D

BTW I'm pretty sure a mod will make you change your username

Nothing wrong with a dick butt.

Thanks, I don't need like a 3W that seems way too strong, But something that's cheaper and that can pop balloons easily would be fantastic for what I want, I'm still not sure how low the mW can be to be able to do that

A 150mW 532nm(green) laser can do both quite easily.

your dollar store laser can do it. I can send you a kit to do it easily

Put your laser on top. If want to pop balloon, put that on top too

What would be the difference if I want a blue one?

Well AFAIK, 445nm isn't available in 150mW. 450nm might be available in 150mW, but again, not 100% sure.

The lowest I have seen is 500mW of 445nm, which is more then enough to do what you want.

I'm sorry if I sound like a noob but I'm very interested in that making a "cheap" one video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XyfrNsoxaQ4

The laser module with lens(445 m140) costs 60 bucks and it's 1W, I want one that's like 150/200mW, Would that vid build still work with a lower mW like the one I want? Or should I look for other video tutorials specifically for a 200mW one

Either that or one of these?

Neither of the two you linked will be anywhere near advertised power.

You will need goggles, regardless. Don't expect much help from people- they (myself included) tend to be hesitant about leading someone to a high powered laser that can easily blind whoever it hits, when said person shows little knowledge of lasers and laser safety.

200mW Half-steel Green Laser Pointer Pen 532nm ( free 2*AAA batteries) at laserpointerpus.com
200mW Adjustable Green Laser Pointer Pen with Battery 532nm Flashlight Style at laserpointerpus.com

These are not very reliable lasers. 200mW 532nm will not cost $30+ ... more around $100.

The cheapest way to get a burning laser is to build one from a dvd drive. You can build an lm317 driver for a few dollars. Also pick up a pair of Eagle pair glasses from survival lasers to protect your eyes. Do a quick search to find a design for a driver circuit.
