So I was going to buy the Arctic 3 from Wicked Lasers.. But I saw everyone saying that is a SHIT laser company, and they aren't 1watt, they're about 300mW.

So I'm looking into a 1 watt laser. I'm not exactly on a budget, I know I will need saftey glasses, but I want to have some fun and burn some stuff, because I have nothing to spend money on for now.

I was looking into this laser, and noticed it said "rectangular beam".. is this a legit rectangle? Or a beam like any other non-focusable laser?

I also noticed this laser pointer, which is far less, but focusable, but is it actually good quality?

And then there is this laser, which seems like a good buy as well.

Out of these three lasers, which would you guys recommend? I want the best bang for my buck, but I don't know if I want to focus the beam, or if I'm better off just getting a non focusable laser, so I can show my friends at night, the intense beam. (I plan on buying a few pairs of glasses)

And does anyone have a good recommendation on a (minimum) 1 watt BLUE laser pointer? I want to get a quality one, that won't shit the bed in a week.

ALSO... what type of safety glasses would be best for me.

Thanks,
-Matt Farrington

You might want to change the title. It's a little miss leading... I thought you were looking into the beam of a 1watt!

If this laser is the one I will be buying..

Would these safety glasses work?

If not, which pair of glasses is the best for me? I want quality.

Thanks

(Sorry for being "annoying". I'm just really looking into a laser, and I want to be sure I'm getting a good buy. I want straight quality.

Just fyi, if you're looking to buy the tactical, posted in another thread, but I think it applies:

The host is very heavy duty. The only major problem when buying direct from o-like is that the 1.2W will put out >1.1W Raw Optical meaning directly from the diode, without the focusing/collimating lens, and without the waterproofing lens.

Which means in reality the 1.2W tactical will rarely hit even 1W.

Which brings me to a shameless plug:p

After a lot of hassle I got o-like to send me a second lens, since my first one was defective, I took the waterproofing lens out of it. With no waterproofing lens this laser does 1.1W. Mine will come with both lens attachments though:)

Keep in mind, I also ship from the US so you will get your laser much faster and without the risk of customs. Price is lower than what you would pay from o-like with shipping too;)

As far as the goggles go, the ones from o-like are not enough for a 1W+ laser... they vary too much in quality, some are ok, many aren't so I would suggest these: Eagle Pair® 190-540nm Standard Laser Safety Goggles
