Probably my favorite laser I had!
400mW 457nm Single Longitudinal Mode Dual Beam Melles Griot

ooooh nice deep blue ftw.

Is there any chance of a 405-457-473-488 or any combo thereof comparo shot?

That is a REALLY nice color!

I have had all of those at one time or another, but not at the same time. I have a 430nm Coherent unit which i am working on. See my next post in this forum.

is there a reason for it to have 2 beams? or are they combined when you focus it?.. (lol sorry im fairly new to lasers in general.. just wondering..)

I would kill for one of those melles dual beam units... I hardly ever see them for sale and when I do they are ridiculously priced (well, for me anyway, still a fraction of the new cost)

Nice laser BTW. We need some good fog or smoke pictures.

What type is it, DPSS? Unusual wavelength you don't often see - I'm sure that would affect the price every bit as much as the power!

I know a few of their greens are dual-beam models as well and they are combined and sent out at a right angle to the head. Does this have a set of similar optics?

Ah SLM dual beam, perfect setup for holography or other interference related projects. And the Melles linewidth is probably on the order of 10[sup]-5[/sup]nm or better allowing at least a 75m or so coherence length.

Schreken, the 457nm is DPSS and is actually quite popular in the scientific community.
