My Argon Ion is 488 nM and looks sky blue. I don't know if a multi line ArIon has a ~510 line or not. There might be a weak line there.

One of the lines in a multiline argon is 514 nm a really nice color blue w/ hint of green some say turquoise, gem folks say paraiba tourmaline blue, also the "electric blue" of tourmalike gems when seen in quartz lamps!
It is my wife's favorite color. Pictures are not perfect but:

The auction is still open on heruursciences' Argon Multiline on eBay if you're really interested...

(Please accept my apologies if another member here is currently the high bidder. I know it can't be Mike...  ;)

Good Luck if you go for it, it's a beautiful colour... and apparently a great space heater too!  ;D

Cheers, CC

You may want to consider looking for another seller (there are quite a few multilines on eBay if you look long/hard enough ;)). IIRC, heruur picked up a nice reputation for selling overpowered improperly regassed argons a few years back that would die within a few months of buying them. Not to mention some unrelated, but much more frightening stories of this guy.

Thanks for the input Pseudo,

I was going by Hemlock Mike's impressions of his Argon, which looks like one of heruur's. You've been around a lot longer than I, so I'd say your opinion has more weight than mine in this regard. Mike had to take a lot of precautions before firing his up, if I remember correctly, so Argons are not for the uninitiated I'm sure. I appreciate the heads up myself as well.

Cheers, CC

clwatkins10 If 514nm is close enough, a small air-cooled argon laser will be your best bet.

The ml argon laser will probably end high around 350-550.00.

Anyway, I have a single line 20mw 514nm only argon laser head too that you can have for $125.00 delivered. ebay seller sunking has some rather inexpensive but VERY nice power supplies wired for 220V that will work, but if you want a 110-125V power supplier, I have them and it would be $75.00 more.

Offering $200 delivered for the head AND THE POWER SUPPLY in the USA. Also if you win the BLUE one i could substitute the green tube at no extra cost.

Psudomen will you stop flaming me, what did i ever do toy you? Oh, i forgot, you use a different name to bid on my items and try to scare people away so it goes cheaper with little success...

Argon lasers are relatively easy to get on Ebay - I have purchased two there already. I had one 50mw (outputting about half that) single line that I later re-sold on Ebay (buyer's user name was Hemlock Mike - kind of strange running into one of your Ebay customers on a forum like this!), and then I bought another single line that was supposed to be 130mw (it isn't quite as bright to the eye as my 131mw 473 DPSS blue laser, so I think it is probably a little under that). Both I bought for less than $500.00.

One of these days I'm going to get a multi-line, but for now I'll be using my slightly under 130mw single line argon. Then I'll probably re-sell the one I currently have on Ebay.

Why is it strange to find someone who buys a laser on a laser forum? :D

So did mike bought it from you or from heruursciences? Or did he get 2? :-?

No, I had it listed on Ebay late last year - some moron was the high bidder but they were a non-payer so Hemlock Mike was the 2nd highest bidder and I sold it to him. Whether he still has it I don't know.....it was only a 25 or 30 mw, not the more powerful one he mentioned in a recent post here. I just thought it strange that I'd run into someone I dealt with on Ebay here.....that was before I had ever heard of this forum.
