efficiency of blue and yellow DPSS lasers?

It's often accepted that green DPSS lasers can be up to about 35% efficient (although these are extremely rare), and any green laser with over 20% efficiency is considered exceptional. This is consistent with the fact that green lasers using 2.5W pump diodes are considered "good" if they output over 500 mW (or even 600 mW) of green light.

However, does anyone know the approximate efficiencies of blue (473 nm) and yellow (589.5 nm) lasers? Thanks.

Actually, it's pretty similar 2-3% (TTBOMK)for blue and yellow, the difference in price and availability being the crystals and more importantly coatings of crystals required.

I'm guessing that Wicked Lasers must have been BS'ing when it was selling the Spyder I lasers. There's no way that a blue laser with a 1.2W pump diode would be able to achieve a peak of 60 mW.

well of course. But if you can find a green with a 1.2W pump, for a decent price, it may be worth ripping for the IR pump! :p

If you just want an IR diode, you can get a 2W 808nm c-block off eBay for <$100 normally.

we ow find out this is wrong. The Lava GB lasers have a 1.2W pump judging by input current, and output a max of 300mW!

Huh? If you want a high watt 808nm you can just buy a 2W diode for $70+ship off eBay.
