Dragonlasers changed their 589s again.

That would be my guess too. They finally got done binning all of their lasers after the recent PR fiasco with sub-standard lasers going out, and the website has changed to reflect that several times now. The first drop to 30 was damage control, now that they're done binning them, they've got a better grasp on what they have.

Kinda crazy when you think of all other re-sellers prices being around $200 cheaper!

That would explain the changes in rated power (some batches come overspec and are sold as 50mW, others come on spec and are sold as 30/20mW). Sometimes they don't bin them properly and send customers underspec lasers (like they sent me and a few others).

I just ordered a 589nm Spartan a few days ago. Hopefully it comes without any problems, im so excited.



I really hope 488nm diodes will drop in price.
