Hey I'm young!(13) I own a green laser that was cheap from eBay and it said 5mw online but when it came, on the sticker it said 200mw. Its not because I've tried with matches and a CD case and nothing burned. Anyway, does anyone sell blue 200mw lasers for less than $40-$50? Please help and thank you in advance! I want one that can burn stuff too.

First off get safety glasses. The eagle pair from survival lasers works quite well.

Burning is all about focus. It could be 200mw but is focused to infinity. I am able to shoot my hand with 300 mw focused to infinity and I only feel a bit warm. When focused it burns quite well.

Also no. There are no lasers that powerful for that price that are actually up to spec or good quality.

Exactly, goggles are A MUST for a laser with that power output. IIRC 445nm lasers aren't available at 200mW's, the only ones I've seen were either <50mW or >500mW!

As far as 200mw blue, you could get a single mode laser module from DTR LPF with a lens in it as well as a driver circuit board built into it and build your own heat sink for it and run it off of batteries, but it will be more than 50 bucks, 77 for the one with a three element glass lens.

It probably isn't really easy to truly focus to infinity, is it? You can't really see what happens to the beam miles and miles away to know, right? Even if the beam appears to be unfocused to a point for a very long distance, either you have a slightly inward focus where it will converge somewhere out in space, or focused slightly outward..... even if you hit it perfect, divergence will spread the beam anyway, but that has nothing to do with focus.

There will always be some divergence. Usually it's enough that the laser looks like a beam out to 100-200ft or so.

Maybe 100 is enough? then you can buy the HL 450 from laserbtb and you can focus it and it will be able to burn some and the beam will be visible it costs 75$ but you are looking at a very good price for what you get compared to the crap u find on ebay its worth having a laser for more money.

And since you are young its better having a laser with safety features so no accident will happen.

I'm sure by 'blue' he means 445-450.

Also given the fact he's 13 and emphasizing 'burning stuff' should have ended the thread right there.

Couldn't have said it better.

Although I'm almost 16 and I like burning stuff. It's not wrong to burn stuff at any age, but certain ages require supervision. Everyone likes to burn stuff, until their house burns down, then they don't like fire at all!

Ever thought of what super-vision could mean?!?!
