Does anyone even care about 473nm anymore?

Now that 445nm is in and is very cheap, I just wanted to ask if anyone still cares about 473nm? I remember about 6 months ago drooling over a 5mW 473nm and I was so jealous of anyone that had one, but now i'm like f**** that there's 445nm and it goes up to 1 watt!

Many of us collect wavelengths. I will not rest until I have them all.
There is more to lasers that just burning stuff.

What he said

Collectors and hobbyists will still look to have all the colors that they can find/afford

I have a thing for DPSS lasers.. I'm fascinated by how they work. I'll never part with my 473nm lasers, and I might buy more..

I have replaced the 473nm laser that was in my full-color projector with one of these 445nm diodes at 620mW, though.. The color depth has improved greatly. They are far superior for laser show projector applications.

I'm working on it ;)

The beam quality of 473 is still a lot better than diodes so no, I don't see everyone completely forgetting about them. I would still buy one if a nice deal came around.

i agree. plus, 473 is more turqiouse, therefore closer to green, therefore better beam:) people want what they cant have. i have an arctic on the way(i hope. hehe..:p), but id still love to have a 473, just because its more exotic, and expensive.

I want all the different lasers wavelengths too, and I also hope the cost of DPSS will drop. :D -Glenn

I hope to get a >100mW 473. And I'm not getting rid of mine. 445 is not 473.

I'd take 1W of DPSS 473 over 1W of 445nm any day, the beam specs are just so much better!

I agree with everything that is said. Burning stuff is cool, but I love the unique colors. Watching the beams together is beautiful!

If I were to put my 5 favorite wavelengths in a list, it would be ordered:

1. 473
2. 532
3. 445
4. 635
5. 405

I just have one question for you. What is 473nm? Is that a laser or somin?
