Alright, so a little bit ago I had posted a picture of what I was harvesting from a xbox hd-dvd sled. I found out what I needed to know about the blu ray diode but now I'm curious to find information on the other diode that was in the sled. I don't know what type of diodes accompy the violet diodes and am curious to find some information on it. such as wavelength and dataspec if possible. so i'll link to the picture again
HERE
Now it's from the dt-0811 sled. Any information on thsi diode would be great! thanks :)

It's a low power, combined IR/Red diode. Practice harvesting it, then throw it away.:cryyy:

Well that kinda sucks, but I guess it's how it goes :( Thanks for the reply though!

don't throw it away, power it up so that you know what happens when you fry a laser, or take it apart and admire how tiny and amazing today's technology is. THEN throw it away, or see if one of those "we buy gold with cash!" places will take it
